My pen al- Bobby and I visited the grand Canyon last week. It was great !
The Grand Canyon is in the state of Arizona. Over millions of years, the
Colorado river cut through the rock and formed the canyon. It is very beautiful.
We started our hike on the south Rim. We hiked to the bottom of the
canyon to a place called Phantom Ranch. We stayed here over night. The next
day , we rode mules to the top of the canyon. My mule was slow , but I was
happy that I didnt have to hike all the way to the top.

Long ago, there lived a little boy named Sammy. He was a good boy. He was good in his

Covent Garden is one of the most popular parts of London. Tourists and

About a month ago, I was walking alone on the beach on a warm evening. I had finished

GORILLAS
Gorillas are the largest of all the primates. A male gorilla can be 180 centimeters tall and
can weigh 200 kilograms. Gorillas are very strong but they do not often fight. In fact they

Penyengat is a small island situated in 1.5 km from Tanjungpinang
(Bintan island). Administratively speaking, it belongs to the province of the
archipelago of Riau. The island has a 3,5 Km length. Its population is about
2,000 persons. Among them, 1/3 are descendants of the former royal family of
Riau. Actually, in the early 16th century, the ruler of Malacca took refuge to
Bintan after the Portuguese conquered Malacca. The court moved several times,
to Johor and to Lingga, and a branch of the royal family eventually returned and
settled on Pulau Penyengat.
In the centre of the island is the restored palace of Raja Ali, who is
remembered for his strict adherence to Islam. Raja Ali decided to build a
mosque. According to legends, people donated food to the workers to help to
build the mosque. At one time, they donated so much that the number of
donated eggs exceeded the needs of workers. Thus, the eggs where mixed with
the lime, resulting in the fine cement the mosque has been built of. The mosque
was completed in 1844 and became an important centre of Muslim Malay
learning in the 19th century.

My friends and I have just returned from an interesting and amusing
holiday at Lake Manijau near Padang. The lake was a crater surrounded by dense
forests and rice fields. We swam in the lake, ate fish from the lake and enjoyed
the cool breezes.
From there we had a two hour trip to Bukit Tinggi, a small hill top town
which was clean, cool and friendly. Day trips around the hill took us to some

wonderful sight to see these giant creatures that came swinging along on trees.
