New Light Rail Transit (LRT) service will be introduced on King George
Boulevard and 104 Avenue between Guildford, Surrey City Centre and Newton

first 7 years,
and along the Fraser Highway between Surrey City
PORT MOODY
Centre and Langley Centre within the first 12 years of this Vision.
For drivers, LRT will reduce congestion on the road, through improved transit
service, and will provide a real alternative to driving. For transit users, LRT will
improve and extend service and expand the regions rapid transitsystem.

LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT (LRT) PROVIDING REAL TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES FOR DRIVERS
Service on King George Boulevard and 104 Avenue between Guildford, Surrey City Centre and
Newton, and on Fraser Highway between Surrey City Centre and Langley Centre
A new four-lane bridge, designed to keep the possibility of future expansion to six lanes, will replace the
existing Pattullo Bridge
The new bridge will include modern lane widths that meet safety standards, a centre barrier separating
northbound and southbound traffic, and effective cycling and pedestrian facilities
New B-Line: Surrey City Centre to Langley via Fraser Highway until LRT is introduced
Extend 96 B-Line to White Rock Centre via King George Boulevard and 152nd Street
New B-Line: Coquitlam Centre to Langley via Lougheed Highway and 200th Street
New B-Line: Scott Road Station to Newton Exchange via Scott Road and 72nd Avenue
BUS INCREASE IN SERVICE FOR MORE RELIABLE, MORE FREQUENT AND EXTENDED SERVICE
Improve and expand frequent all-day service: service that runs at least every 15 minutes in both directions
throughout the day and into the evening, every day of the week, e.g., 88th Avenue in Surrey/Langley,
200th Street in Langley
Improve and expand frequent peak service: service that runs at least every 15 minutes, e.g., 112th Street,
152nd Street in Surrey and Highway 17 in Delta
Expand basic coverage network: Brookswood and Willoughby (Langley)
EXISTING RAIL UPGRADES
Upgrades and expansion to fleet and stations on existing rapid transit lines, including the Expo and
Millennium Lines, to reduce overcrowding and improve the transit experience
Expansion, upgrade or reconfiguration of transit facilities at the Surrey City Centre Exchange,
the Willowbrook Exchange, the Langley Exchange and the South Delta Exchange and Park and Ride
CYCLING/WALKING IMPROVEMENTS
Investments in cycling routes in partnership with municipalities: 2,700 kilometres of bikeways including
300 kilometres of fully traffic separated routes region-wide
Investments in bike parking at transit stations
Better connections to transit through pedestrian improvements at or near transit stops and stations
ROAD INVESTMENT
An additional $36 million per year will go towards maintaining and upgrading the Major Road Network
(MRN), in a cost-share with municipalities around the region
