GCSO LAW ENFORCEMENT SUMMARY


JANUARY 19, 2015 JANUARY 25, 2015

On Tuesday, January 20th, Sgt. J. Murnan served Richard W. Wynn (34) with a warrant
for Violation of Probation issued in Bay County. Wynn was taken into custody at the
State Probation Office, located in Wewahitchka, and transported to the Gulf County
Detention Facility (GCDF). He was released on a $1,000 bond. Wynn is on Community
Control as a Sexual Offender for failure to comply with registration requirements.
On January 20th, Sgt. J. Murnan served Mark A. Smith (50) with a Writ of Bodily
Attachment at the GCDF. Smith turned himself in at the Gulf County Sheriffs Office
(GCSO). He was released on his own recognizance the following day.
On January 20th, the GCSO received a complaint regarding a residential burglary in the
300 block of East Creekview Drive in the Stone Mill Creek area. Deputy B. Smith
arrived to investigate the complaint. Several items were removed from the residence,
including a firearm. Deputy Smith developed a lead in the case from the neighborhood.
Inv. L. Dickey was assigned the case and developed two suspects, William Paul Massey
(37) and Lesley Jean Brasher (36). The GCSO obtained a warrant for both Massey and
Brasher for Burglary of a Conveyance while Armed.
On January 20th, Sgt. J. Williams served a warrant for Contempt of Court on Timothy
Pynes (32). Pynes turned himself in on the warrant. He was booked into the GCDF
where he remains in custody.
On Wednesday, January 21st, Deputy M. Layfield made contact with a complainant at the
Wewahitchka Substation regarding a scam. The complainant reported an item was listed
on Craigslist for sale and a subject in Chicago contacted them wishing to purchase and
make arrangements to pick up the item. A check in the amount of $1,500, for the $200
item, was received from the subject wishing to make the purchase. In an abundance of
caution, the complainant contacted the financial institution on the check and determined
it to be fraudulent. The GCSO encourages citizens to use caution and common sense
when conducting personal business online.

On January 21st, Deputy C. Sanders and Deputy D. Wiser arrested Gary L. Hudson (45)
in the Express Lane in Wewahitchka. The GCSO held an active warrant for Hudson for
Harassing Phone Calls. He was taken into custody and transported to the GCDF.
Hudson was first appeared and remains in custody.
On Thursday, January 22nd, the GCSO traveled to the Bay County Jail to transport Joshua
M. Ray (25) to the GCDF. Ray was wanted by the GCSO for Dealing in Stolen Property.
The case originated November 30, 2014, and was investigated by Deputy G. Desroiser.
Ray was booked into the GCDF where he was later first appeared. He was released on
January 23rd on a $5,000 bond.
On January 22nd, Deputy D. Wiser responded to the report of criminal mischief. The
GCSO was contacted in reference to vandalism to a control tower owned by the
Apalachicola Northern Railroad. Deputy Wiser continues to investigate the case.
On January 22nd, the GCSO received a complaint regarding a theft from the 8900 block
of Lighthouse Avenue in Beacon Hill. Sgt. R. Burkett responded to the complaint. It
was reported that a large fish cooker was stolen out of the yard of the residence. The
cooker was valued at approximately $310.
On January 22nd, the GCSO Narcotics Unit and Deputies arrested the following subjects
on drug charges: Anthony L. Turner (30) for Sale of Meth and Unlawful Use of a TwoWay Communications Device; Eunice Holmes (42) for five counts of the Sale of Crack
Cocaine within 1,000 Feet of a Church and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way
Communications Device; Terrell E. Jackson (30) for three counts of the Sale of Crack
Cocaine within 1,000 Feet of a Church and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way
Communications Device; Michael A. Hammond (34) for the Sale of Meth within 1,000
Feet of a Church, Possession of Meth, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Eric A.
Sims (27) for the Sale of Meth within 1,000 Feet of a Church; Jerome D. Russ (36) for
three counts of the Sale of Crack Cocaine within 1,000 Feet of a Church/Park and
Violation of Probation; Wesley E. Ramsey (37) for the Sale of Marijuana within 1,000
Feet of a Church, Possession of Less than Twenty Grams of Marijuana, and Possession of
Drug Paraphernalia; Shawna M. Hatcher (34) for the Delivery of Meth and Dispensing
Prescription Medication without a License; and Willie E. Pelt (32) for Dispensing
Prescription Medication without a License. A warrant was served to Joseph T. Adkison
(23) for the Sale of Meth within 1,000 Feet of a Park at the Jackson County Jail. All
subjects were transported to the GCDF.
On Friday, January 23rd, Deputy D. Wiser was contacted by a citizen about a suspicious
vehicle in the area of Ponderosa Pines Drive. The vehicle was located and Deputy Wiser
conducted a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle, Donald E. Tullis (57), pulled into the
600 block of Jones Homestead Road and exited the vehicle. Tullis attempted to conceal
himself behind several vehicles and failed to comply with the commands of Deputy
Wiser. Port St. Joe Police Department Sgt. J. Richards responded and assisted. Tullis
continued to resist Deputy Wiser and Sgt. Richards. He was taken into custody and
charged with Driving While License Suspended/Revoked (DWLS/R) and Resisting an

Officer without Violence. Tullis was transported to the GCDF, where he was first
appeared and remains in custody on a $1,000 bond.
On January 23rd, a 911 call was received by the GCSO regarding a physical disturbance
in the 8600 block of U.S. Highway 98 in St. Joe Beach. Sgt. R. Burkett responded to
investigate the complaint. A physical altercation occurred in the parking lot with the
aggressor fleeing the scene prior to Sgt. Burketts arrival. Criminal charges are
forthcoming.
On January 23rd, the GCSO received a complaint of an attempted burglary in the 400
block of Honey Hill Road in Dalkeith. Deputy J. Oquendo responded to the complaint.
It was determined entry was not gained into the residence. Two subjects were observed
leaving the rear of the residence by a neighbor, who contacted the property owner.
On January 23rd, Deputy B. Smith responded to the complaint of a theft at Dollar General
Store in the 8200 block of U.S. Highway 98 in St. Joe Beach. The manager of the
business contacted the GCSO to report a theft by two employees. Investigator L. Dickey
was assigned the case and continues to investigate.
On Saturday, January 24th, Deputy J. Oquendo responded to the 100 block of Old Bay
City Road in Howard Creek in reference to criminal mischief. The complainant reported
someone had spun tires in their yard, causing ruts in the ground. During the offense lawn
furniture and a garage door was damaged.
