continues.

We've

been

able to add Sarah, Emma, and Alan Glen to the few

faithful. Aged 7, 9, and 11, they live on the grounds
of the local distillery. Jeanne and I are picking them
up every Sunday morning at this time. We pray that the
parents, Harold and Sally, can be reached in the near
future. There were 9 in Sunday School and 18 in church
this past Sunday.

JEANNE is continuing with her ladies' Bible class

made up of mostly abused women. The ladies are growing
in the Lord. Despite the tense situation around them,
they are learning to put their trust in the Lord more
each day.
We live just 1.5 miles from a large Royal Air Force

baseone of the major defense bases in Scotland. In

the event of war, there will be casualties from here.
Three planes

with their crews from the base are al

ready in the Gulf. Most of the personnel at the base

are on standby at this time. As it no doubt is there,
the situation here is tense, with expectation of ter
rorism as well. The people here need to know the Lord
now more than ever. Please pray for them and for us
as we endeavor to witness to them.

I would like to thank each and everyone of these
congregations for their kindness, prayer support and financial gifts and
support.
There are also a group of people -who support us on a monthly basis.
Thank you all for your diligence I
All who support us financially make It
possible for the Gospel to be preached In Forres, Scotland.
When I came back In February to raise more support, we set a goal of

raising an additional $1,000.00 per month.

That would give us $2,000.00 per
month which Is approximately $990.00 spending power at the present exchange rate
and Inflation rate.
As far as I can tell, we have about. $1,500.00 per month
committed. Please pray that additional churches and Individual people will see
the need to spread the Gospel In Scotland. We praise God for bringing us this
far, and put our future In His hands.

Jeanne and I are both thankful that we are enjoying good health at this
time. Pray that we continue to walk this path.
Through a gift from the Mlldenhall (England) church, Jeanne was able to
enjoy a trip to London and Sawbrldgeworth, England to share with the church
there. Ross and Cheryl Wlssmann minister In Sawbrldgeworth, In a new work.

August 1991

It is hard to believe that over half of 1991 is already gone.

thought that I would recap the first half of the year for all of you.
It has been a real time of gladness and reflection.
Let me

start with the latest f i r s t and then reflect baclcwards.

We

had our Holiday Bible Club the week of July Ist to the 5th, with our
closing program the evening of the 5th. We averaged about 30 children
a day, and had a total of 44 different kids for the week.
Out of that
number, we added two new kids to Sunday School.
We had 28 kids at the
closing program, along with 13 parents.
This is the best attendance
that we have ever had for a closing program in the five years that the

church has been doing H.B.C. We praise God for this.

Over the last three months, we have been doing an in-depth STUDY ON
BAPTISM on Sunday evenings. This started out to be a study for some of
the kids that had been asking questions in Sunday School, but a couple
of adults saw the study that Jeanne and I were preparing, and said that
they didn't know if they knew the answers to the questions that were
being presented, so i t was decided that everybody would do the study.
The results have been just great!
After the study was ended, we were
able to baptize Christine Lumsden, and Richard Harris.
Richard was the
original reason for the study.
He is the son of one of our members,

Jacqui Harris, and is 10 years old.

Christine is an early 50s widow,
and is the mother of one of our members, Lorell Mclntosh.
We praise
the Lord for these two.
This study also helped the other members to a
greater understanding and depth of commitment to their beliefs.
Our

associate,

Robert

furlough on August Ist.

Caudle,

is

retiiming

to

the

States

on

He is to be gone for 6 months, so this will be

a very busy time for us.

Robert is in need of additional support, as
we are, so we would ask you to remember him and us in your prayers.
'.Vhile I was able to secure some additional support when I was in the

States earlier this year, the cost of ministry here continues to rise
and we are still only holding onr own at this time. We are not able to
put anything back for emergencies or a furlough fund. If you know of
any congregations or individuals that could help out,
our Forwarding Agent, Mark Dace, or ourselves.

please contact

We have had to replace out aging and ailing Conmiodore computer. We

were able to get a substantial discount on a new machine that is I.B.M.
compatible, and dual voltage so that it could be used here or at home.
We did not realize just how much we use the computer until we were
without it.
It was then
least two lessons and one
awards and various and
church.
Add to that the

that we. realized that I alone use it to do at

sermon a week, plus making graphics, banners,
sundry other things for Sunday School and
use that Jeanne gives it in keeping records

and preparing lists and lessons, and you can see that it is on from
morning to night. The man we bought it from is also selling all of the
good pieces from the Commodore for us at no commision, just as a favor
to us,

and that will lower the cost of this computer even more.

We

praise the Lord for leading us to this dealer.

As most of you know, I was in the States from February 3rd to May
2nd of this year.
I want to take this opportunity to once again thank
all of the folks who housed me,

fad me, washed my clothes and gave me

transportation while I was there.

You don't know how much your
hospitality means to me. And your gifts of money and prayers made it
possible for me to get done what had to be done while I was there. I
praise God for all of you.
PLBA5E CONTINUE TO LIFT US UP IW PRAYER FOR THE FOLLOWING THINGS;
1.

Continued GROWTH OF THE BODY here in Forres.

2.

NEW CHRISTIANS -

3.

SAFETY for Robert's trip home.

4.

FINANCES for US and for Robert.

Christine and Richard.

5. REVIVAL to personal holiness in Scotland as well as the U.S.

6.
An Evangelism Syplosion in Forres.
The Henckel Hotel had two very prominent guests at the end of May.
John and Velma Raymond of Webb City, Missouri, stayed with us for one
night while on tour of the U.K. Brother John was one of my professors
at Ozark Christian College, and he and Velma are delightful friends.
We were blessed by their presence.
If any of you are traveling and
would like to visit, we have ample room and would be delighted to have
someone from home to catch us up on the news of the Brothers and
Sisters back in the USA.
But don't be surprised if you get put to work
for a bit while you're here.

Our daughter, Pamela, will be married on August 31, 1991, in

Memphis to Shawn Hunter.
We have mat him via telephone and letters,
and he seems to be a fine Christian young man.
Please pray for them as
they start this new life together.
We will be unable to attend the

wedding, but they have promised to capture it on video tape for us.

The church has rented a VCR that plays British and American videos
so that we can use teaching tapes from America. Any donations will be
gratefully accepted!!
If there are any of you who would be able to come over for a month

or two to help further the work here, we would love to hear from. you.
There is much to do, not only in Porres, but we would like to be able
to
survey some of
the
surrounding areas
as well
for
future

consideration. We would not use a whip on you, and would even give you
some free time to explore this beautiful place. Pray about it please.
Write when you can.

SPECIAL PRAYER CONCERN

Three

new

people

have

recently

begun

attending

the

Forres

Christian Church - a woman, her daughter, and another woman - who have
come out of one of the New Age Movement groups in the U.K. This

particular group is very Satanic in origin.

Each Thursday the
daughter, who is eight years old, visits her father who is still
involved with the New Age group.

There is concern in the church that

this girl not be influenced back to the group. The Henckels are
requesting that their supporters make this situation a matter of much
prayer.

December 1, 1991

Greetings in the name of our Dord Jesus Christ!

It sure is hard to believe that in fifty short days, Jeanne and I

vill have been in Scotland for two years. Yes, we arrived in Forres
on January 19th, 1990. It seems so long ago in one sense, and like it
was yesterday in another.

Much has happened in the time that we have

been hare.

For those of you who haven't heard by now, Jeanne has had two

surgeries since the middle of June.

On June 19th, she had surgery for

a carpal tunnel problem in her right hand, which had been numb for
over a year.

It is fine now!

On August 30th, she had half of her

thyroid along with a tumor removed. Praise the Lord that she is
almost toally recovered, and that the tumor was NOT malignant. I have

almost totally recovered from my illness of last year, having just the
occasional bad day.

But then, who doesn't?

I postponed this, newsletter for a month so that we could report on

a meeting that we were having on November 16th & 17th with Dr. Lewis
Foster, a professor at Cincinnati Bible Seminary. We did not hold
that meeting as Dr. Foster suffered a heart attack on November 15th in
area

We are

thankful

that it was not a

real severe

attack, and at last word he was resting in the hospital.

Upon his

release, he will have to stay in this country for an additional few

weeks before he can fly home.

Please pray for a speedy and complete

recovery for Dr. Foster, and for comfort for his wife, Betty, emd the
rest of the famUy.

Wa continue to show a steady growth in our church family. Not so

much in numbers of new people, but in growth and commitment in the
members we have. It is certainly not easy to reach people here, but

when you do, they are very loyal as a rule.

We have been trying to

target young families so that we can build a leadership.

for our worJc here.

Please pray

We are running a consistent twenty to twenty-two

in attendance every week. While I realize that that number will sound
more like a Sunday School class to most of you, it is almost double

what it was when we came here.

We now have three Sunday School

classes meeting, with a fourth age group to be added soon.

The women

continue to have Bible Study with Jeanne on Monday nights.

They have

been trying their hands at taking turns teaching. Wo are really

pleased wiuh this progress. The men meet with Jim for prayer at the
same time, and the entire church gets together on Thursday night for a
joint Bible Study.

The kids have written and performed two Bible

skits so far, with more in the works. Once again we are going to jive
concerts at two nursing homes for Christmas on December 15th.

We ha^-e

worked really hard making presents for them, and preparing the
program.

In order to meet more people, and to give myself a better chance

to minister to people, I have become a volunteer for the R.D.A.

(Riding for the Disabled).

We meet on Mondays from 11:00 a.m. to

about 3:00 p.m., and supervise four classes of about nine disabled in

each class, in riding ponies.

It is not only good physical thermy

ror them, but good mental exercise also. I have been able to tall
everybody that is in the organization why I am in Scotland, and have

been able to witness to one person already. Please pray for this use
of my time that it may further the Lord's Kingdom hare in Scotland.
We must be doing something right here because sataui sure doesn't
want us here. We continue to have financial concerns because we have
never been able to build up any reserve funds to cope with out of the

ord^a^ things that come up like SPoll Tax for Jeanne from the day we

arrived that we weren't aware we would have to pay ($400.00), two

because winter came much earlier this year

($400.00) and an additional 17 1/2% sales tax added on to everything

we buy. Inflation continues, as well as the exchange rate going up

again to make things that much more difficult. Please pray for our

Randal health in the coming months as we try to get even with the
^ard once again. Pray that the Lord will supply the extra need so

that we are not forced to borrow money once again to stay afloat.

sent this letter off.

Jeanne and I wish to announce the arrival of

our second grandchild. Ariel Rae Reagor was bom at 10:26 p.m. on
November 27th, 1991, to Leroy and Melissa Jeanne Henckel Reagor. She
weighed in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 18 inches long. She is
reputed to look like her daddy (she probably has very little hair -

ha! ha!).

We thank God for a safe delivery and good health for the

baby and mom.

Some of you ma^;- not be aware that our second daughter, Pamela Sue,
was married on the 30th of August in Memphis, Tennessee, to Shawn

We are hopeful that this newsletter will reach you before
