Application
Rheovis AS 1920 is a highly effective rheology-control thickener for
systems which are supplied as dry systems and require the addition
of water for activation prior to their use. Typical application examples
are plasters, wall finishes and cements.
Using Rheovis AS 1920 allows the formulation of non-stringy systems
which are easy to apply over a wide range of speeds and/or processes.
For the production of dry systems, Rheovis AS 1920 is typically incorporated into the dry powder mix by a normal dry-blending operation.
Upon wetting of such a dry system, a water-based paste/slurry is
generated. After the addition of water, the strong thixotropic effect
develops immediately, provided the pH of the system is always kept
> 7.5.
Rheovis AS 1920 is most effective in the wide pH range from 7.5 to
10.5.
