(KJV)

Grace and peace unto you!

'Tis the season, Saints, to take the time to come together and acknowledge the
greatest gift given to all humanity - Jesus Christ. According to John, God gave us
His only Son, Jesus, so we could have eternal life. Since God gave us His best, as
Christians, we should give our best to share Christ with others this season. He is
the real reason for the Christmas season. Let's celebrate Him!
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 (KJV)
It is true that the heart of Christmas is to spread the good news of the birth of
Jesus, God's only Son. Each day, we must continue to bring forgiveness and hope
to all by sharing that wondrous night in the town of Bethlehem, away in a
manger, where laid the Savior of the world In addition, as we think of the gift of
Jesus this Christmas, remember to promote "Peace on Earth" as the angels spoke
of in Luke 2:14. Let's glorify Him this season!
"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." - Luke 2:14
(KJV)
Therefore, when you think about the true meaning of Christmas, nothing can
ever take the place of God's infinite love for us. Without His great love, there
would have been no gift of salvation to the world to receive. Also, the world as
we now it may not be in existence. In short, where would we be?

Welcome and Greetings

Thank you for worshipping with us at Canaan Baptist Church. The
corporate life of this congregation is the true witness of the vitality of
our faith. While the high point of our Christian service is to be
found in the experience of Sunday worship, what we do from
Monday to Saturday, speaks volumes about Canaans commitment
and dedication to Christ and our community.
Canaan is a family where all of us are saved sinners hammering out
our salvation under the auspices of Gods amazing grace. We are
structured, but not so structured as to prevent the powerful work of
the Holy Spirit to impact the life of our in-reach and outreach
ministries. We are organized, but not so organized to prevent the
organism, which is the Church, from bearing full life.

We Welcome You!
Dr. Christopher Alan Bullock and First Lady Dr. Debbie Bullock
and the Canaan Baptist Church Family

The Gift (continued from page 1)

But because God loves us, we as Christians must continue to hold onto our appreciation with
shouts of glad tidings and great joy that surrounds the miracle birth of Jesus.
In doing so, we would invoke the spirit of sharing and giving among the invisible in our
communities that may have become poverty-stricken, homeless, imprisoned, parentless,
disenfranchised, and mentally or physically challenged.
Let's be a blessing to others this season!
"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." - 2 Corinthians 9:15 (KJV)
Finally, Jesus is the greatest Christmas gift ever given. When we celebrate Christmas in the right
way, we bring glory and honor to God. Our greatest aspirations should be to glorify God in all our
activities at Christmas and throughout the year. Always keep Jesus at the center in our
celebrations. Remember to follow Jesus, not Santa Claus. After all, Christmas is all about Jesus.
From my family to yours, have a blessed Christmas!

Canaan and The Clouds

For the second year in a row, famed Grammy and Stellar Award gospel singer
and quartet, Joe Ligon and The Mighty Clouds of Joy, performed another
outstanding performance on November 14, 2014 to a sold out audience at
Canaan.
The evening's highly publicized gospel event sponsored by Canaan's Music
Ministry for their 2nd Annual Celebration Concert became a joyous blessing.
Gracefully led by Dr. Arvis Strickling-Jones, the Canaan's Unity Mass Choir
performed with powerful voices and spirit filled songs of praise as the opening act for the legendary group.
With a standing ovation to the introduction of Joe Ligon and the Mighty Clouds of Joy, the sanctuary
transformed into an incredible night of praise and worship for the old and young at heart. Performing songs
such as the new album release "God Can", the toe tapper "Meeting Tonight", heart felt "Order My Steps", Holy
Ghost hand clapper "Heavy Load", oldie but goodie "If Jesus Can't Fix It, Nobody Can" and the finale signature
"I've Been In The Storm", the Mighty Clouds of Joy made a thunderous joyful noise in Canaan.
Clearly, the evening's musical journey was a welcomed and wonderful blessing to everyone. The Music
Ministry's Celebration Concert provided another fellowship opportunity to celebrate and praise God through
song. It also reminded us of His love for us. God is deserving of it all. After all, He is the reason why we sing.

With the Holiday Season already upon us, Canaan encourages you to enjoy this holiday
season to its fullest by staying safe and secure with a few Holiday Safety Tips. The holiday
season is a special time of year, but it is also a time when people become overwhelmed by
holiday shopping and planning, and thus more vulnerable to theft, car and home burglary,
purse snatching, charity scams, and other holiday crime.

Safe Driving Tips:

Avoid driving alone or at night and park in a well-lighted area.

Keep all car doors locked and set your alarm or use an anti-theft device.

Avoid parking next to vans, trucks with camper shells, or cars with tinted windows.

Park as close as you can to your destination and take notice of where you parked.

Do not leave packages or valuables on the seat of your car.

Be sure to locate your keys prior to going to your car and keep a secure hold on your purse, handbag and parcels.

Do not approach your car alone if there are suspicious people in the area.

Safe Shopping Tips:

Shop during daylight hours whenever possible. If you must shop at night, go with a friend or family member.

Avoid wearing expensive jewelry and do not carry a purse or wallet, if possible.

Avoid carrying large amounts of cash and carry it in your front pocket.

Keep a record of all of your credit card numbers in a safe place at home.

Avoid overloading yourself with packages. It is important to have clear visibility and freedom of motion to avoid mishaps.
