About Us
Dropsafe has pioneered Oil & Gas Industry adopted safety solutions for securing overhead fixtures like lights,
speakers, CCTV cameras and other items located or used at height on Oil & Gas facilities.
Dropsafe products are safety devices designed to prevent a DROPS situation. This is where items, equipment
or fixtures at height come loose and fall because of wear, fatigue, corrosion, poor maintenance, human error,
vibration, impact or being poorly secured. This situation may then result in the injury or death of any personnel in
or near the impact zone, or damage of equipment with further consequences, with severe negative implications
to personnel and facility stakeholders.
Since 1997, we have been designing innovative and award winning mesh-safety and mesh-security solutions
for customers worldwide. We work in partnership with HSE professionals and Asset Managers in the Oil & Gas
Industry to provide unique and effective solutions to enhance workplace safety.
Dropsafe Pouch
Dropsafe Pouches are safety devices that are attached to the user, designed to securely
enclose and tether two-way radios, gas detectors, multimeters, aerosol cans and other
items used at height.
Dropsafe Barrier
Dropsafe Barriers are mesh panels designed as Safety Barriers to reduce DROPS hazards
or Security Barriers to prevent unauthorised access. Safety Barriers can be installed along
side & under stairwells and along walkways to prevent items falling. Security Barriers can be
installed inside jack-up rig legs to prevent unauthorised access.
Custom Designs
We make mesh panels in custom sizes and wire diameters to meet a variety of requirements
from helideck perimeter netting to securing aging ventilation ducting systems on vessels still
in service. Custom design panels can be supplied with adjustable perimeter securing cables
to facilitate installations.
Dropsafe Net
The patented Dropsafe Nets are secondary retention safety devices that enclose and tether overhead fixtures
(e.g. lights, beacons, speakers, self-retracting lifelines, CCTV cameras, anodes, pipe clamps) located above
personnel or important equipment.
The products are specifically designed and tested to reduce the risk of a DROPS situation. This is where items,
equipment or fixtures at height come loose and fall because of wear, fatigue, corrosion, poor maintenance,
human error, vibration, impact or being poorly secured. This situation may then result in the injury or death of
any personnel in or near the impact zone, or damage to equipment with further consequences.
Able to retain most fixture mounting brackets (if SWL not exceeded)
The introduction of the Dropsafe Net has provided us with a significantly improved safety tool for
our Dropped Object Prevention Program in our offshore workplaces. The provision of adequate secondary
retention of fixtures at height was a critical short-coming in ours and in many other offshore environments,
a problem now only effectively addressed through the innovation and introduction of this piece of safety
equipment. This product has met our key requirements in that it allows a dramatic improvement in the
safety of our workplaces, it positively enhances our Dropped Object Prevention Program and in doing
so, contributes to our overall safety performance, as measured by ourselves and more significantly by our
clients.

Fixture Types
Dropsafe Nets are designed and tested to fit a variety of fixture types. Some examples are illustrated below.
Flood Lights
Fluorescent Lights
Speakers / Horns
CCTV Cameras
Self-Retracting Lifelines
Anodes
Pipe Clamps
Dropsafe Pouch
Dropsafe Pouches are safety devices designed to secure two-way radios, portable gas detectors, aerosol
spray cans, multimeters and other items used while working at height. The Dropsafe Pouch fully encloses the
item being secured and tethers the item to the user preventing it from becoming a DROPS hazard.
Dropsafe Barrier
How the Dropsafe Barrier works
Dropsafe Barriers are mesh panels which securely attach to railings around walkways and stairwells or the
internal perimeter structure of a jack-up leg. The barriers fill the open spaces preventing access from below or
fall protection from above.
Safety Barrier
Dropsafe Safety Barriers are mesh panels designed to prevent DROPS situations, and to assist containing
loose items to a particular area or deck level. Safety barriers can be installed along side & under stairwells,
along walkways and to railings around deck openings to prevent items falling from height - considerably
improving safety on the facility. Dropsafe Barriers can be installed and used during maintenance periods or as
permanent installations during normal operations.
Security Barrier
Dropsafe Security Barriers are designed to prevent unauthorised access, the large mesh panels are installed
horizontally, at deck level of jack-up rig legs to prevent unauthorised access from below. Having this deck level
barrier in place also helps contain loose items that may fall into the area of the jack up leg opening.
