FieldFresh Foods Pvt. Ltd. was established in 2004 with an objective of Linking the Indian Fields to the World, primarily out of the desire to make a difference in one of the most underserved sectors in the countryhorticulture. Bharti FieldFresh is a 50:50 JV between Bharti Enterprises, one of Indias largest business groups, and Del Monte Pacific Limited, Philippines. The partnership was initiated to offer processed food and beverage products in India under the Del Monte brand and fresh vegetables in its export markets under the FieldFresh brand.
Since inception, FieldFresh has pioneered the creation of export oriented agri-supply chains for select fresh fruits and vegetables for the UK, EU, Japanese and Australian markets. At FieldFreshs state- of-the-art Agri Centre of Excellence (ACE), Ludhiana, through extensive R&D and trainings, Baby Corn, Sweet Corn, varieties of Chillies, Beans and Snow Peas etc have been successfully transferred to the farmer fields as diversification crops. Farmers are offered a Price & Pick-up (P&P) guarantee and full technical support, so as to enable them to follow Global GAP standards and meet stringent pesticide controls. As a result, the partner farmer incomes have gone up by 25% to 30% on an average as compared to alternate crops.
FieldFresh has a commercial relationship with over 4,500 small and marginal farmers in the Punjab, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, by either engaging directly or through agri-entrepreneurs. It is the largest Indian exporter of fresh baby corn and fresh sweet corn to the UK/EU markets, built on the foundation of strong customer relationships. With a focused effort on creating partnerships with stake holders across the supply chain, FieldFresh offers itself as a platform to develop and test innovative solutions for the Indian Agriculture.
The journey so far has been extremely eventful, filled with several learnings. FieldFresh Foods has been able to steadily evolve a differentiated agri-business model with a positive impact on the lives of thousands of farmers.
