UTStarcoms miniDSLAM is an affordable, easy-to-install, 1U form factor miniDSLAM.
The miniDSLAM enables Service Providers to offer a wide selection of DSL services to
areas that are beyond the reach of typical CO-based DSLAMs, because it can be deployed
close to the customer premise. Deployment of the miniDSLAM shortens the last mile
to the last half-mile, by reducing the copper loop length. This enables Service Providers
to offer higher bandwidth and increase broadband subscriber penetration.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The 24-port G.DMT/G.Lite ADSL, IP miniDSLAM shares the same cost-effective
high-performance characteristics featured in UTStarcoms market-leading chassis-based
IP-DSLAM. Including the integrated splitter, this miniDSLAM occupies a mere 1U of
rack space. In addition, multiple units may be stacked together and managed as a single
device, providing the flexibility and scalability required for cost-effective incremental
growth strategies. Configurable optical IP/Ethernet uplink interfaces provide the
bandwidth and reach required to backhaul traffic to the broadband central office. This
combination of features enables more services and higher revenues.
The miniDSLAM is centrally managed by the NetMan graphical network management
platform. NetMan supports network-wide fault, configuration, administration and
performance management from a single location.
APPLICATIONS
The miniDSLAM shortens the copper loop-length to the subscriber, resulting in higher
Bit-rates and thereby enabling delivery of multiple services over a single copper loop. New
service bundles are now possible that combine Internet access, corporate LAN access,
Voice-over-IP and multimedia-over-IP.
