It was probably the greatest fight in the history of

level where even the gods of war can only dream of. However,

parents, the “Thrilla in Manila” (Taekwondo version) happened
on March 11, 2007, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum---The 4. April 9, 2006; Manila Youth Games; 1 G, 1 S, 3 B

Thirteen gallant Taekwondoins of D’ Club Taekwondo JayR Zia RJ, Wilson, & TJ
under the tutelage of Sir Kitoy & Ma’am Daleen did a superb
performance: 4 golds, 2 silvers, & 2 bronzes.

D’ Club, even before it could finish its 2nd year of Gold Silver Bronze
inception, has already garnered a total of 30 gold, 11 silver, and
Renz, RJ, Justine,
13 bronze medals in 2006 alone.
Christian, Marion,
Wilson Dumo, son of club owner Mr. and Mrs. Dumo,
& Ryan
and TJ Avelino, the only black-belters to date of D’ Club won 6
gold medals each in sparring competition, while 18 gold medals 9. Sept. 24, 2006; Samsung Best of the Best; 1 G
were contributed by non-black belters. This only shows that the Gold Silver Bronze
gold medal winners of D’ Club are both black-belters and non- TJ
black-belters.
Additionally, 3 more gold medals in the Poomse event 10. Sept. 24, 2006; Inter-school Championship; 2 G, 1 S
were garnered by TJ Avelino in the National Poomse Gold Silver Bronze
Competition in August 2006 and in the Samsung Best of the JayR, & Ryan Justine
Best event in September 2006. This pushes the medal harvest of
D’ Club in the year 2006 to 33 gold medals. 11. October 15, 2006 National Age Group; 3 G, 1 S, 2 B
It must be noted that of the 14 competitions where D’ Gold Silver Bronze
Club entered, only in three events did D’ Club not win the gold. Zia, JayR, & RJ Justine Renz, & John
This must be the reason why D’ Club has consistently been seen
in the finals events and always criticized for winning these 12. Dec. 2006; Army Taekwondo Invitational; 3 G
medals. And, doubly hard for Sir Kitoy to coach D’ Club Gold Silver Bronze
players simultaneously during these finals. Wilson, TJ, &
However, there is only one event---CPJ John
Championships--where D’ Club has not yet brought back one
single medal. This is why in 2007 we are calling on Wilson, TJ, 13. Nov 2006; 2nd Manila Youth Games Invitational; 2 B
RJ, and Ryan to practice harder and more effectively to bring Gold Silver Bronze
