Job Purpose & Scope




Carries out the repair, overhaul and calibration of process control
equipment on site or in workshop. Includes systems such as fire
and gas detection equipment, turbine control systems, wellhead
hydraulic safety system, and ordinary control systems e.g.
pressures, temperatures, levels etc. Uses various types of tools and
test equipment. Work is carried out on pneumatic, electronic and
hydraulic equipment. Refers to drawings are required.


Principal Accountabilities




a.) Calibrates process control instrumentation such as flow
transmitters, controllers, recorders, current pressure
transducers, control valves etc. Prepares calibration sheets,
log book and work order report.
b.) Calibrates H2S gas detection system. Includes using toxic
gas as a medium, calibrating sensing heads and control
room indicators using multimeters and calibrating
equipment.
c.) Calibrates turbine control system. Includes calibrating
turbine governor, temperature and vibration monitoring
systems, and associated skid instruments using signal
generator, millovolt source. Multimeter, pressure calibrator
and temperature bath, etc.
d.) Carries out various kind of installation work. Includes
installing or replacing electronic and pneumatic
instrumentation including tubing and cabling as required.
Covers also in-house projects.
e.) Carries out repair and overhaul of process instrumentation.
Includes repairing or overhauling instruments such as
transmitters, controllers and transducers.
f.) Performs other similar or related duties such as providing
assistance to other trades during the course of their duties.


Qualification & Experience




a.) Completion of Secondary education (12 years).
b.) 5 years clerical and secretarial experience in a production or
technical department in the oil industry with knowledge of
relevant technical terminology.
c.) Should be computer literate.
d.) Good knowledge of English.
