Pre-requisite :

information technology and other relevant fields of study. It shall undertake research, production and extension services

Aim of the Program:

BSIE

To prepare students for a professional Industrial Engineering career including a leading role in the design,
improvement and installation of integrated system of people, materials, information, equipment, and energy. Graduates of
the program must have specialized knowledge and skills in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with
the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design to specify, predict and evaluate the results to be obtained
from such system.


Course Outline:
This course deals with the students are exposed to Windows commands required for working with a CAD
package, creating two-and three- dimensional drawings, and using a test editor for work processing. Related topics
include job planning, tool selection, construction of process mode, tool path verification, simulation, quality control,
CAD/CAM data transfer, and CNC code generation. Instruction is conducted in a computer lab.

A. Cognitive
1. Basic knowledge in design and manufacturing of parts used in industry;
2. Exposed to manufacturing technology and CAD/CAM in part design and manufacturing;
3. Can appreciate the usefulness of the knowledge and skills in Computer Aided Design applications and
Computer Aided Manufacturing as applied in his/her professional development.

` B. Affective
1. Understanding of advanced technologies and tools, which play a significant role in design and
manufacturing of engineering components.
2. Adapt the appropriate knowledge and skills in actual work;
3. Maintain and develop interest in learning.

C. Psychomotor
1. Students should be able to use CAD/CAM software to produce a CNC program;
2. Develop an understanding of the advanced aspects of enabling computer aided technologies used in
design, manufacturing and rapid product development;
3. Develop a degree of competency in the development and application of modern CAD/CAM system
through hands on experience in the solution of practical problems.
4. Apply knowledge on advances in modern techniques of rapid prototyping and rapid tooling.
