    The Downtown Hammond Council (DHC) is a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Prot VOLUNTEER organization whose mission is to revitalize, beautify, and promote our downtown district. Join us!

    Competition begins at 10 am
    All entrants must arrive by 9:30 am!
    Open to students in grades K-12/Adults)

    Cost: $10 per contestant Pre-registration is required: No walk-ins. Enter earlyOnly 150 entries accepted

    With the support of the School City of Hammond Chess Team Coaches, the Chess Tournament will be a part of the Downtown Hammond Councils 8th annual Bizarre Bazaar fest.     Parents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to relax during the tournament.

    Tournament runs until all age categories are nished RAIN OR SHINE! Prize award immediately after tournament.
    Tournament will follow USCF rules. This is not a rated tournament. Prizes will be awarded in each division after four rounds of play. Divisions are grades K-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12, Adult. We reserve the right to merge divisions due to low participation.

    This is an event the whole family will enjoy from 10 am 4 pm! Pie baking contest, arts & crafts vendors, food vendors, kids games/art activities, live music and much more! Additional info at www.downtownhammond.org

    Chess Tourney Waiver and Photo Release


    I give permission for my child (participant), __________________________________________to play chess at Bizarre Bazaar on September 21, 2013. I understand that I must be present at the event for my child to participate and be responsible for his/her behavior. My signature is also my agreement that photos taken during the tournament may be used for the promotion of the event. On behalf of myself and my child, I hereby release and discharge the Downtown Hammond Council, the City of Hammond, together with the ofcers, employees, board members and agents of both the Downtown Hammond Council and the City of Hammond, for any injury, damage, loss, or theft occurring as a result of my child's attendance and participation in the Bizarre Bazaar event. I hereby grant to the Downtown Hammond Council the right to photograph my dependent and use the photo and/or other digital reproduction of him/her for publication processes, whether electronic, print, or digital.
