With RS facing, rejoin yarn to rem sts and cont as folls: Next row (RS): K1, rib 7, K to last 8 [9: 9: 8] sts, rib 7 [8: 8: 7], K1. 42 [47: 51: 58] sts. Next row: K1, rib 7 [8: 8: 7], P to last 8 sts, rib 7, K1. Last 2 rows set the sts - rib at both ends of rows, centre sts in st st, and first and last st of every row worked as a K st. Keeping sts correct, cont as folls: Work 2 rows. Next row (RS): Patt 8 sts, sl 1, K1, psso, patt to end. Working all front slope decreases as set by last row, dec 1 st at neck edge of 4th and 3 [0: 4: 1] foll 4th rows, then on every foll 6th row until 30 [35: 37: 44] sts rem.
