Dear friends and family, Thank you for your support both financially and spiritually. God has answered several prayers already and it has been a wild, hard, and wonderful experience thus far. He has been so faithful and through everything has been drawing me closer to Him. My first month here in Ecuador I've learned much more Spanish, held a monkey, gone to the zoo, taught my first English class, seen massive waterfalls, tried several strange foods, met several missionaries, encountered the very large spiders here, and climbed higher than I've ever gone before at the Basilica del Voto Nacional that overlooks Quito, Ecuador.
I am so honored to serve the children at La Casa de Fe orphanage and get to know the missionaries better. One of my favorite things to do with the smaller children is go to the playground. When I get on the seesaw with them they go way up high and it gives them such joy! A missionary couple and I took several of the older girls to get ice cream a couple times. It's been fun getting to know them better. The last couple days I taught the 4th grade English class for the first time. We did several different activities and then had a ton of fun unscrambling words. It has certainly been different and somewhat of a struggle trying to adjust to living in a third world country. However, I am learning to be grateful and am trying to embrace it. Im learning to adjust to trying strange foods all the time, walking everywhere I go, cooking my own meals, learning Spanish, greeting everyone with a kiss, and learning what is safe, acceptable, etc, in this culture. The weather is very different from MD. It usually rains every day with temperatures in the sixties, nothing like all the snow that MD has received. I was informed by another missionary the other day that if you sit in the front seat of a taxi, you are stating you want to be the drivers wife! It's a learning experience and hasn't been easy yet there is so much to enjoy and I so love this place where God has me. Thank you again, to everyone who has prayed for and supported me. I love and miss you all a lot and am so grateful for the encouragement and blessing youve been!
Prayer
that I would strive to know Christ more and depend solely upon Him for the children at Casa de Fe who have been through unthinkable things with truly devastating stories please pray theyd turn to Christ and that the missionaries here would be an example for them for Ecuadorit is a beautiful yet broken culture that truly needs Christ
Praise
Your support! I am adjusting to and embracing the culture. Im getting to serve!
