The APU BLEED VALVE Includes a VISUAL POSITION INDICATOR and a MANUAL OVERRIDE which serves to actuate the VALVE BUTIERFLY on the ground. APU SOV - The APU Itself regulates its air pressure. - Open when solenoid is energized. - Closed when solenoid is de-energized and Leak detection 8. X FEED Valve 2 Motors a. AUTO mode and MANUAL mode b. The APU BLEED and X FEED valves will automatically close If : i. APU rpm < 95 %. ii. Reverse airflow in APU air bleed ducting. iii. Leak detection Closed: When air is normally bled from engines, when ENG FIRE handle Is actuated, when ambient overheat Is detected (LEAK warning).

PACK OVERHEAT
There is a fuse and a thermostat at the compressor outlet and at the turbine Inlet. Pack flow control valve closes In the event of pack overheat. Notes: If fuse has melted, the flow control valve remains closed. If thermostat, the valve regulates again when the overheat condition disappears. Temperature Control
When the temperature reaches 88o C In one of the cabin or cargo ducts: 1. The OVHT light illuminates 2. The ECAM activation. 3. The hot air supply valve closes.
HI PRESS
A hot air pressure switch, is located downstream of the hot air supply valve. When pressure is higher than 12.5 psi above cabin pressure, the hot air supply stores Fault after a delay of 3 seconds. The panel is located on the rear panel. The light will illuminate when called on ground.
Temperature Control
and are controlled by the coldest temperature demand.
There are 4 zones (Flight deck, FWD cabin, MID cabin, AFT cabin) which can be controlled independently, from the COMPARTMENT TEMPERATURE panel, automatically or manually. The pack outlet temperature can range from -7o C to +63 o C, MAX cool selected The pack outlet temperature can range from +4o C to +63 o C, MAX cool OFF In the event of smoke detection: 1. The appropriate Indicator on the "CARGO COMPARTMENT SMOKE DETECTION" panel illuminates and in addition. 2. A closure signal is sent to: a. The trim air valve b. The fan c. The isolation valve. Note: The ISOLATION VALVE pushbutton has to be reset to restore the system normal operation after smoke cancellation.

Controllers
There are 4 zone controllers, 2 pack temperature controllers and 1 APU and PACK DEMAND controller located on the 90VU. The APU and PACK DEMAND CONTROLLER have a BITE TEST which allows checking the controllers Involved In the temperature regulation as well as the sensors. Sensors Involved In the temperature cabin regulation. (2 Zones + 3 Ducts) 1. Zone controllers: a. Zone temperature sensors b. Duct temperature sensors 2. Indicator and the ECAM: a. Zone temperature sensors. b. Duct temperature sensors. 3. Overheat protection: a. Duct temperature sensors. Note: When the rotary selector is not In CRT position, on the ECAM the Indications are replaced by XX. In order to avoid possible pack overheat at the beginning of pack temperature regulation, the temperature demand signal between APU and PACK DEMAND "CONTROLLER" and PACK "CONTROLLER" Is cut off for 3 minutes after pack valve has started to Open .
CARGO COMPARTMENTS
The system Includes: 1. 2. 3. 4. A trim air valve. A zone temperature sensor. A duct temperature sensor. A bulk cargo temperature controller.
Note: Cargo temperature regulation system is not connected to pack temperature regulation system. With the MANUAL mode selector at MAN and hold at HOT, the controller action is by-passed. The selector acts directly on the trim air valve (here as HOT has been selected, the trim air valve opens). The air is extracted by an electric fan then after passing through an Isolation valve; the air is exhausted under the compartment itself, and heats the compartment floor. The fan and the Isolation valve are controlled by a pushbutton located on the COMPARTMENT TIMPERATURE panel. Note: the fan only operates if the isolation valve is fully open. Page 6 of 9
ATA 36, 21, 30, 35 There are four kinds of warning: Warnings due Warnings due Warnings due Warnings due to an Isolation valve disagreement. to the fan failure. to a duct over-temperature 90OC. to a cargo smoke detection.
Sensors Involved In the cargo temperature regulation: 1. ECAM display and panel Indicating a. Zone sensor. b. Duct over-temperature switch c. Duct sensor 2. Controller signal a. Zone sensor. b. Duct sensor. ECAM DISPLAY 1. Trim air valve position. 3. Isolation valve position.

VENTILATION
3 cabin fans controlled from the overhead panel are installed to recirculate air when
required + double stage filters.
When the CABIN FANS pushbutton is pressed in and with the packs in the normal mode, approximately 40 % of the air existing in the outlets is recalculated by electric fans. WARNINGS A fan overheats of 90o C causes the cut-off of the corresponding fan power supply, and the white Illumination of the corresponding MFA on the lateral panel.
