Friday November 15, 2:10 2:40pm Choice Time come join us for some free play time, bring an activity, game, some play dough, art, craft or just yourself. Play with your child or chat with other parents. (Every time you see a Choice Time on the class calendar know that you are welcome to come play and learn with us !) Monday Reading: Identify the beginning of a story. How did the reader hook you in? Find the who (characters), when and where (setting). Math: Odd or even? How do you know? 2? 5? 11? 34? 27? 9? 6? 13? 42? Review telling time to the half hour. Be sure to differentiate between the long and the short hand. Tuesday Reading: Identify the beginning of a story. How did the reader hook you in? Find the who (characters), when and where (setting). Word Study: Identify words with the long e sound. What are some different ways you can make long e? What is the difference between see/ sea, been/bean, meet/meat? (Different spelling, different meaning.) Can you think of a way to remember how to spell each word? Math: Math practice attached, but also sent as hard copy. (There are a number of problems. If you choose to do them, make a plan for the week.) Wednesday Reading: Identify the middle of a story the juicy bit, the excitement, the peak. What does the author do to create suspense, drama, emotion? What does the author do to make you want to read on? How can you use these ideas in your own writing? Math: Math practice attached, but also sent as hard copy. (There are a number of problems. If you choose to do them, make a plan for the week.)
