To Whom It May Concern,
Last year, J.R. Albert foundation gave HSP $1,000 which was allocated to our Christmas Offering program. This generous gift allowed HSP to better serve the needy families and children who participated in the project. HSP is asking you for the permission to apply for your grant again for this year's Christmas Offering. HSP is an organization whose mission is to help ease the suffering and pain that poverty produces on the children of DuPage and Kane counties, regardless of race, gender, caste, creed, color or physical condition. This statement has been the guidance of HSP since our foundation in 1979. To fulfill our mission, HSP currently manages five different programs: the Senior Citizen Project, the Children's Birthday Project, Feed the Kids, the Christmas Offering, and the annual School Supply Drive. HSP served 1,636 children for the Christmas Offeringin20l2. HSP distributed 3 weeks worth of groceries to provide for the nutritional needs of 150 families. Each child received a minimum of 3 gifts. When it was all said and done, we distributed 25 tons of food and 23 tons of toys. Through this program, HSP is able to give families the Christmas they deserve; full of love and care. This continued assistance of J.R. Albert Foundation would enable HSP to continue to make the Christmas Offering Program a
success for the 2013 holidav season.

The Christmas Offering provides for children and their families during a time of year that is burdened with a great deal of financial stress. The children served by the Christmas Offering receive gifts that they would not normally receive because of their parents' financial situations. Receiving gifts show the children that they too are loved and cared at a time where such things are very important. By showing the children love and care, their self-esteem becomes more positive and enables better performance in the classroom academicallv.

It is difficult for children to get the proper nutrition they need during the holidays. This is because they are not in school where they receive subsidized healthy meal provided by government aid. Through the Christmas Offering, HSP gives healthy and nutritious groceries to children who otherwise have no access to the nutrition they need during this time period. Because of the J.R. Albert Foundation's focus on combating childhood obesity, HSP feels the nutrition aspect of the Christmas Offering perfectly aligns with your organization's priorities. Offering. Through the program, HSP provides children the healthy meals they need through the holiday; during the time they aren't in school. The Christmas Offering is a veryimportant program that helps the mental and physical wellbeing of our com-unity', neediest children. Christmastime is a time for caring and love for everyone. With J.R. Albert Foundation's continuing support, we at HSP can provide that love and care that our community's neediest families deserve.
We at HSP thank you for accepting our request and we look forward to continuing our relationship with J.R. Albert Foundation, for the sake of our neediest children in our surrounding community. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our programs or organization.

so we can continue to support needy children and families through the Christmas

It is our hope that HSP can continue its relationship with J.R. Albert Foundation,

Yours in love and service.
