Every day we make choices. Some have little or no lasting effect, like what article of clothing we choose to wear or what flavor of ice cream to order. Others, however, are more impactful for ourselves and others. For example, the woman who has come to our Center the past few weeks is wrestling with the choice of whether or not to continue her pregnancy. For her, it would mean taking physical and financial responsibility for an infant, disappointing her parents, and feeling publicly ridiculed. For her unborn child, the choice is life or death; Future or no future. Birth or no birth. That impact is HUGE. Together, we are exploring options that will bring positive results for both mother and baby and no regrets. We are walking with her, offering hope and help through what feels to her like a very dark time in her life. It is because of the choice of many to support the Heart Choices ministry through prayer, finances, donated goods, and volunteer hours that our client advocates are available to meet with this mother and other parents facing difficult situations in their lives, as they were in 76 client visits last month. We were so blessed with the financial and volunteer response from the Spring Banquet this year as Kirk Walden challenged us to Build A Culture of Life in North Central Kansas. Together we are committed to do just that as we provide pregnancy and parenting support services and sexual integrity education throughout a nine-county (or sometimes more) area. As the request for services increase, so does the need for support. Will you make the choice to keep a babys heart beating or to help a parent learn effective parenting skills, or to provide essential items such as formula, diapers, and cribs for those who are in need? Will you choose to support sexual integrity education in our schools so that youth can make healthy life choices? Your support in fundraising activities, such as the Pizza Hut night, fireworks stand, Mitchell County Fair lemonade and brat stand, and the Walk-Run 4 Life and Duathalon in September are great choices to help this ministry and can definitely make a difference in the life of a child or parent. May I ask you to go one step further? Will you join our leadership team and so many others by adding a monthly gift to Heart Choices to your giving plans? Whether you choose to give $25 a month, $50, $100, or $15, or $5 . . . every gift is appreciated and helps sustain this ministry to be available for years to come. Its a choice that can mean life or death for a child. Above all, pray for us as we minister as we also are praying Gods blessing on you as you choose life today and every day!

P.S. Have you seen the movie October Baby? It is coming to DVD! Since its release last spring, it has continued impacting moviegoers with its powerful story of forgiveness and the sanctity of human life.
