Student progress on the report card is based on what is being taught within the nine weeks. If units of study occurred during the first nine weeks in a content area, the remainder of the spaces after the first nine weeks should be left blank. Symbols will not be carried forward to consecutive nine weeks if they have not been instructed again during the nine weeks.
Student Records
Grade book: All tests, quizzes, and project grades will be recorded by date and heading Progress reports: Sent home twice a month with graded papers Conferences: Held in the first 9 weeks and throughout the year as needed. Assessments
Spelling tests are given every Friday. Spelling tests consist of sight words, family words, and review words. Reading skills assessments will be given twice a month. Writing will be assessed throughout the year through the use of writing notebooks. I will be taking conference notes with each student.

I will assess Math through observations, tests, daily work, and participation. Math tests are given at the end of each unit. There may be other assessments given during a unit of study as well. Science and Social Studies are assessed by unit tests, observations, projects, and participation.
