SALIENT FEATURES

UBT Series plants are designed and built to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability with the following FEATURES: Rapid on-site installation and commissioning. Very Low power consumption due to Low pressure (5 to 7 Bar) process. Very low maintenance due to NO RECIPROCATING PARTS. Fully automatic air cooled design Rotary Air Compressor with no water for cooling. Nitrogen output at high purity up to 5 ppm. CE certified product with design as per European Gas Association guidelines for ASPs. Cryogenic expansion of air for cooling via Expansion Turbines. No special civil foundation required for any part of the plant. Hydrocarbon vapor level reduced below 0.003 ppm to ensure safe operation. Long life of the plant and machinery > 15 years to 20 Years. Basic Principle
The UBT Series air separation plant recovers oxygen and nitrogen from air simultaneously via Low pressure cryogenic Distillation process. Its design is based on the advanced low pressure technology process of Boschi Italy using rotary screw compressor and turbo expanders. The feed air enters the Molecular Sieve purification system employed to remove the moisture and Co2 from the process air. The air is liquefied by cryogenic cooling using latest plate and fin high efficiency heat exchangers and turbo expanders. The air separates into oxygen & liquid nitrogen in the air separation column with final product being sent for pipeline application or stored into cylinders at the required pressure.

Process Description

STEP 1 - Air Compression by rotary air compressors. In the first stage air is compressed at a low pressure of 5-7 bar (Gas plants) to 10 Bar (liquid plants). Air can be compressed at such low pressure by trouble free rotary compressor (Screw / Centrifugal Type advanced technology is employed in lieu of old bulky piston reciprocating compressor). STEP 2 - Air Pre-Cooling The second stage of the process uses a low pressure refrigerant (R-407A as per CE regulations) for pre-cooling the processed air to temperature around 12 deg c before it enters the purifier. STEP 3 - Purification of Air by Purifier The air enters a purifier consisting of twin Molecular Sieve driers, working alternatively. The Molecular Sieves remove the Carbon dioxide & moisture from the process air before the air enters Air Separation Unit. STEP 4 - Separation of Liquid Air into Oxygen and Nitrogen in Air Separation Column Oil free, moisture free and Carbon Dioxide free air enters into low pressure plate fin type Heat exchanger where the air is cooled below sub zero temperatures by air expansion process in the turbo expander. Due to the excellent thermal efficiency we can achieve a temperature difference delta t as low as 2 deg c at the warm end of these exchangers. The air has to be cooled to sub zero temperatures for liquification & the cryogenic refrigeration & the cooling is provided by highly efficient turbo expander, which cools the air to temperature almost below -165 to-170 deg C. Air gets liquefied when it enters the air separation column & gets separated into oxygen & nitrogen by the process of rectification. Oxygen is available in gas or liquid form (as per requirement) at the outlet of the ASU at a purity of 99.6%. Nitrogen is also available at the outlet as a second product at purity of 99.99% upto 3ppm simultaneously without loss of oxygen product (or as specified). STEP 5 Product storage For Gas: The final product in the form compressed Oxygen/Nitrogen goes to the high pressure oxygen cylinders at 150 bar or upto higher UPTO 200 BAR as required. OR for pipeline supply or captive consumption.

SCOPE OF SUPPLY:

UBT OXYGEN NITROGEN CYLINDER FILLING: The oxygen plant UBT SERIES consist of the
following equipments

1. AIR COMPRESSOR : 1set


Filter system with steel structure and supports elements. Dedust system with valve, collecting machine, spray equipment, automatic clean and control system. Send the pressure difference signals to PLC by pressure differential transmitter. Instrument and electric control system

2-Air Purification Unit:

Molecular Sieve Battery on skid


Complete with 2 nos. vessels, Reactivation heater complete with Molecular Sieve designed for process skid mounting.

Defrost Heater
Consist of heating coils and heating element 5 kW.

Gas/Air Lines as per standard Layout


All pipelines for process air, Nitrogen and Oxygen line, HP line upto manifold along with short bend, elbow, socket and other necessary fitting as per our standard layout drawing.

5-Turbo expander:
The turbo expander is a rotary machine running on gas bearing. This is used to provide cooling for the liquefaction of air at minus 180 to (-)190degrees centigrade. including: 1. Expansion turbine body 2. Ventricular joint 3. Inlet filter 4. Silencer 5. Bearing & sealed gas system 6. Instrument gas filter 7. ET bearing and sealed gas system

6- Oxygen Cylinder Filling System:


The oxygen is filled into cylinders by an oxygen filling SYSTEM ( PUMP/BOOSTER) .
