Youre backed up all the wa y

You could say safety is fundamental to Mazda6. Its extremely rigid occupant cell is backed up by the Mazda Advanced Impact Distribution and Absorption System (MAIDAS), which absorbs and redirects impact energy away from it. Every model has six SRS airbags, comprising front, side and curtain airbags. Front seat-belts have pretensioners and load-limiters. No matter what the conditions, standard Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with Traction Control System (TCS) adds confidence. There's also ABS backing up the powerful brakes, plus Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) that optimises braking force according to vehicle And its good to know all is secure. Remote control central locking, a double lock door deadlock system and an engine immobiliser are included. load. On top of this Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) recognises emergency braking and boosts stopping power just when its needed. Collapsible brake and clutch pedals help minimise driver leg injuries.

Safe on all levels. Extremely strong body shell integrates MAIDAS. 'Triple H' construction with front and rear crumple zones redirects impact energy away from the occupant cell. Six SRS airbags give occupants the highest level of protection.

Prepared for the unexpected. So what if youre faced with an unanticipated hazard on the road and have to react suddenly? DSC acts instantly, braking the inner rear wheel to counter understeer (or outer front wheel to counter oversteer). At the same time, the TCS reduces torque to the driven wheels to minimise slip. As a result, control is maintained and the vehicle can be safely steered around the obstacle.

Keeping watch. Luxury Sports and Diesel Sports boast an Adaptive Front-lighting System. On low beam the Bi-Xenon headlamps swivel to illuminate more of the corner you're turning into.

Helping hand. Manual models feature Hill Launch Assist. Take your foot off the brake pedal on an incline and it keeps the brakes applied as you move to the throttle. When theres enough power for a smooth start, the brakes are released.
