Did you know that July marks National Make a Difference to Children Month? Thinking back to your childhood, who are the adults you remember making a significant difference to you, and what was it about them that you remember most? Thoughts on making a difference: Plan a community picnic or block party with fun activities and yummy food. Themes could include potluck, garden, lawn games, local food, scavenger hunt or neighborhood trivia. Volunteer through one of the numerous local youthserving organizations in our community. Share a skill or passion, or learn something completely new! Information on upcoming events and opportunities is available on ERYC's website. Be genuine. Invest in one new relationship with a young person or neighbor this summer, and express genuine interest in their passions and goals. Stay focused on them during the time you spend together. Colorado Cares Day- July 27th Colorado Cares Day is a statewide day of service in honor of Colorado's statehood on August 1, 1876. Colorado Cares Day is an opportunity to help strengthen local communities through statewide service projects. SOS summer programs have officially launched in Eagle County! It's going to be a busy summer for SOS with nearly 1000 students enrolled in summer programming nationally, 800 riders participating in the Colorado Eagle River Ride, and 400 participants completing a full year of SOS activities, including 30 days of winter and summer sports, leadership development, core value training and service learning.

Eagle River Youth Coalition and Family Leadership Training Institute Summer programs recently launched in Eagle County with an "Intro to Camping" experience, teaching participants outdoor recreation skills including Leave No Trace Principles, outdoor cooking and basic wilderness safety. Program staff reinforce the core value training from the winter curriculum, discussing courage, discipline, integrity, wisdom, compassion, and humility. The growth of longterm, year-round programming is due in part to fundraisers like SOS's ColoradoEagle River Ride. The Youth Foundation YF has many volunteer options this summer! If you have a green thumb, the Youth Foundation needs help in our Sowing Seeds gardening program in both Eagle and Edwards. Eagle camps at Brush Creek Elementary are July 8-
12 and August 5-9. Edwards camps at Edwards Elementary will be July 13 and 15-19. Summer school Camp takes place July 8-July 31. This camp is academic based and helps keep the summer slide at baby. Takes place at Homestake Peak in EagleVail and Gypsum Creek in Gypsum. Help withHelp with solicitations, set up and tear down of our largest fundraiser at the Star Dancing Gala.
