Pedagogy I remember Prof D teaching linguistics., but (because of the project) E and me and M we wanted to go more into teaching and what made good teaching and what made it different. So it was really a change from linguistics. We had to move. Methodology was underestimated then. But we did contribute to changing that. Status joining this project prepared us, and we talked about it in the staff room. People listened . So I think we contributed to this methodology . Personal Confidence I underestimated myself in many ways. I wasnt ambitious to make a career.. But (through the project) I realised that relationships helped you

Professional development In terms of promotion, theres not much, not really In terms of professional development and development as a person who deals with other professionals a lot . Opportunity I dont think my life would be complete without the Council. The method of choosing people was very different. This was the very first time in my life I could apply for a job - I would never ever get a job ( with BODECA). For the first time I was able to do something - because of the Council Postponed career development Yes a lot of them wrote books and went to conferences. But I didnt channel my new experience and knowledge into writing and now I need a PhD to keep my job. But because we had the option not to become PhDs we didn't.

So what?
Project evaluators /designers can underestimate or do not measure the effects projects have on peoples lives. Why? 1. Very difficult to measure. 2. Qualitative not quantitative so difficult to report . Can seem fuzzy 3. Non financial ROI? In monetary terms none but benefit to business in the long term

But there are legacy outcomes. Trust, pedagogical foundations, strong network of professionals who contribute the country's development.
