THE CASE OF THE HEADLESS SUNNY

A student studying in the CVC Library was surprised one day, during this cold spring by a shadowy fiend wearing a head similar to that of Sunny the mascot. He found this to be an odd occurrence, but he brushed it off and went to class. Later, during a session at our illustrious tutoring center, the head of Sunny struck again! This time, Tobias got worried. It seemed like he saw that floating Sunny head everywhere he turned! Due to this, he hired the OSL gang of private investigators! They retraced his steps and returned back to the scene of the original haunting; the CVC Library. There, they were greeted by its caretaker, Jeff Stagner, who explained to the gang the history behind the school, including that its builder and namesake; Shunkadunk Patel, had a fascination with the Sun. After a long and drawn out investigative process, it was discovered that Tobiass friends had found out about this legend and used their blank skills to coordinate a psychological attack on Tobias using the Sunny head. The culprits said and we would have gotten away with it too if it werent for that meddling OSL gang!!! as campus police golf carted them away. Other noted mysteries solved by the OSL gang include the case of the missing cheese in 2010 and the lesser known case of the drowning truck from 03.

TACC COMMUN IT Y COL LEGE DAY AT THE CA PITO L

On Tuesday, February 5th, Harold Hankerson, a Student Government Association Advisor, and eight students traveled to Austin, TX as representatives for the cedar valley college student body at the TACC community college day at the capitol. The students received a unique opportunity to see the Texas legislature in action and also meet with a representative of Senator Royce Wests Office to discuss pressing issues that community colleges face. They advocated for funding, college readiness strategies, transfer success, and workforce success. It was a rewarding day for those who attended. One student said, Most of the time, I thought that the legislators only cared about four-year universities. However, going down there and having an entire day dedicated to community colleges showed me that we matter too. It really boosted my confidence and my pride in my college.
