St. Paul Lutheran and St. John Lutheran, Lakeside-Marblehead, Ohio
Our vision: To be a vibrant, Spirit-filled people, participating in Gods work in the world Our mission: Loving God and loving neighbor, we witness to Christs saving grace, that others may believe and find life.

No matter how many times I see the pictures of the aftermath of the tornado in Oklahoma, the image of a mother finding her child alive and embracing him like she would never let him go, brings tears to my eyes. It is the picture from Jesus parable where the Father runs to embrace his lost son with unbounded joy, saying let us eat and celebrate; for this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found!' Sometimes I get lost in worries, in busyness, in pride, in stubbornness, in grief, in frustration, in sadness, in distractions, (or in my car). Sometimes I am lost in things that separate me from my faith. Yet, every time I am lost, God finds me and wraps me in divine arms of forgiveness, unconditional love and acceptance, humility, joy, freedom, and focus on what really matters. God loves finding us, and saying, Lets celebrate! Luke 23 has lots of celebration, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lostRejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lostRejoice with me for I have found my son/daughter that was lost. Luke 19:10 says, For the Son of Man came to seek out and to save the lost." May we who know what it is to be lost and found, become seekers of those who are yet lost. May we help sort through the rubble of this life, listening for sounds of life, for calls for help. May we be Christs first responders, the love that runs to embrace and then calls for celebration. Amen!
