The Field Experience Office as well as many instructors use Moodle to provide documents, content & activities for courses. You will need to login to Moodle as a student in the Faculty of Education at VIU. The username and password for your Moodle account is now generated from your VIU student Discovery account. If you had a previous Moodle account where you created your own username & password, you will need to remember that account information to access your previous course content. For every course you are starting now, you will use your Discovery account credentials. If you would like, you can re-enroll with your Discovery Moodle account in Education Students Practicum Templates & Resources http://educ.viuonline.ca/course/view.php?id=61 . Contact [email protected] if you need the enrollment key for the Templates & Resources course shell. Create your Discovery account andby defaultyour Moodle account is created. Once you have your account username & password, you will need the enrolment key from your specific course instructor in Education to access it via Moodle. Please note that Education has its own web address for Moodleseparate from the Universitys generic Moodle, or that of other departments. The Education Moodle is located @ http://educ.viuonline.ca . Remember to bookmark or favourite that site in your browser if you need it. NOTE: You will need to update your Discovery password about every 90 days. If you logon to computers at a VIU campus regularly, you will be prompted to change your existing password when it is getting close to expiry. If you do not use on-campus computers, you will need to update your password about every 90 days via the same site where you will create your account as below (http://account.viuonline.ca/ ). If you use an email program with reminders like Outlook or Google Calendar, it is helpful to create a reminder to update your password for Discovery.
