INVENTOR, ANSYS, NASTRAN, FEMAP etc.. setup exclusively for M.Tech Students to carry
out their research and project works.
The Center is equipped with 10 P-IV machines with 2.8GHz, 80 GB hard disc, 512 MB Ram along
with a main IBM server. The machines are connected with LAN and broad band internet. This
will help the students to carry out research and projects. Altair Hyperworks suite of software
containing Hypermesh, Hyperview, Optistmet, Hyperstudy, Hyperform, HyperXtrude, Radioss
and LS Dyna softwares are being procured (order placed).
b) Stress Analysis Lab with photoelastic Polariscope setup with necessary accessories and Strain
gauge setup along with a number of types of load cells to facilitate experimental work.

5. Research Focus
Research is focussed on problems of current interest, to obtain modified and optimal design
of components pertaining to Aerostructures, Machine tools, Engines, Mechanical Fasteners etc.
Theoretical, experimental and computational studies are carried out in the following areas:
i) Stress analysis.
ii) Vibration Studies.
iii) Optimum Design for refining the existing designs.
• Industry Linkage
All the M.Tech Students will undergo training for two months in local and other
industries. Most of the M.Tech students have undertaken their project works in reputed
Industries and R & D Organizations. For facilitating Industry- Institute Interaction an
Industry- Institute Interaction Cell has been setup. Recently Industry- Institute Interaction
meeting was organized and areas of interest have been identified, such as testing,
Calibration, Training, Projectworks, Consultancy, etc..
