1. Subject Area: Introduction to Art/Painting 2. Grade Level: 10-12 grades 3. State Curriculum Standards for all lessons: The objectives of this course match the Nevada State Board of Education (NSBE) teaching standards. (3.12.2) Evaluate artwork based on various characteristics such as themes, styles, purposes, and subject matter. (4.5.2) Plan and produce a work of art that displays the ability to choose subject matter, symbols, and ideas to communicate intended meaning. (5.12.1) 4. Activities a. The students will read all of the content provided on the site. b. The students will take a quiz upon the completion of reading assignment. Adaptations for special learners: Appropriate accommodations will be made for students who require special assistance in regards to accessing the material. Supplemental Activities: Extension: The participants can write a 350-word essay on any of the subject matter for three extra credit points. Remediation: The students who require more instruction will be provided with facilitator attention and additional sources. Assessment Quiz 8-question objective test Multiple-choice, Yes/No, and True/False.

Remediation: The learners who require more instruction will be provided with individualized attention and additional sources of learning. Assessment Quiz Students will take an 8-question quiz - Multiple-choice, Yes/No, and Matching the Artist to their painting.

Activities The learners will secure the art supplies from the teacher. The learners will read the painting instructions. The learners will watch the instructional video. The learners will create a painting (final product).
Adaptations for special learners: For students who cannot complete this task two alternative methods are available. 1. Submit a sketch drawing (pencil or charcoal on paper or canvas). 2. Submit a 500-word essay on any of the information presented in the course.
