ORDER NO. FD 42 SRP 2007, BANGALORE, DATED 27th SEPTEMBER 2007 Government are pleased to sanction increase in the rates of Dearness Allowance payable in the 2007 Revised pay scales from existing 12.25% to 17.5% of the basic pay to the State Government employees with effect from 1st July 2007. 2. The increase in Dearness Allowance admissible under this order is payable in cash until further orders. 3. These orders will apply to the full time Government employees, employees of Zilla Panchayats, work charged employees on regular time scales of pay, fun time employees of aided educational Institutions and Universities who are on regular time scales of pay. These orders will also apply to the Teaching Staff, Librarians and Physical Education Personnel who are on UGC/AICTE/ICAR scales of pay. 4. For the purpose of this order, the term 'Basic Pay' means, pay drawn by a Government Employee in the scale of pay applicable to the post held by him and includes:a. b. Stagnation increment, if any, .granted to him above the maximum of the scale of pay. Personal Pay. if any, granted to him under sub-rule (3) of Rule7 of the Karnataka Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2007.

5. Basic Pay shall not include any emoluments other than those specified above. 6. In respect of Teachers, Librarians and Physical Education Personnel on UGC, AICTE and ICAR scales of pay, basic pay includes Dearness Allowance sanctioned upto 1st July 2005 vide G.D. No. FD 48 SRP 2005 dated 28th October 2005.

7. The payment on account of Dearness Allowance involving fractions of 50 paise and above shall be rounded off to the next rupee and fractions less than 50 paise shall be ignored. 8. The Dearness Allowance will be shown as a distinct element of remuneration and will not be treated as pay for any purpose.
