1 Features
Compactness with increased operational capacity
The smallest depth in the world with a 1 second Icw at 65 kA
TemPower 2 The innovative design of the TemPower 2 double break contacts system has eliminated any need for an intermediate flexible conductor in the moving contacts assembly. The result is a more compact main contact design allowing the TemPower 2 ACB to have the worlds smallest depth for a 65 kA, 1 second Icw ACB. Switchboard design benefits in two ways especially, a more space saving ACB, plus a lower temperature rise as result of fewer moving parts associated with the double break contacts assembly. The TemPower 2 ACB has more than 20 design patents registered covering its unique main contacts design. TemPower
345 mm 458 mm
The height and depth dimensions are identical in all sizes up to 3200 A, with only the width varying according to the amp rating. There are two common width or frame sizes from 800-2000 A and from 2500-3200 A. The panel cut out size is the same for all sizes of the TemPower 2 ACB, thus simplifying fitting a variety of breaker sizes into a switchboard. The 4000A TemPower 2 ACB has an increased width & depth, while the height is common with other sizes. Maximum power from minimum volume was central to the design specification. With a depth of 345 mm, the TemPower 2 is one of the smallest ACBs in the world in terms of overall dimensions and one of the smallest when it comes to depth. TemPower 2 ACBs are available with draw-out carriages, with either front or rear terminal connections. A front connected ACB is especially suitable where a switchboard has less depth available.

1 Features
Intelligent design
Increased accessibility from the front
For easy wiring access, control voltage, auxiliary and position switch terminals are all mounted at the front on the ACB body for easy access. Due to a general increase in the level of line harmonics in modern power distribution systems, the neutral phase is fully rated as standard.
Manual operation
Draw-out operation
The TemPower 2 ACB dissipates all arc energy within its unique DoubleBreak arc chamber. The internal energy dissipation within the ACB allows the clearance distance of the ACB to nearby earthed metal to be zero. Temperature rise constraints aside, TemPower 2 ACBs can be stacked with no arc space clearance being required. This will assist in minimising switchboard height, and generally saving costs.

1 Features
High performance and reliability
Very fast interruption by the DoubleBreak system
The uniqueDoubleBreak main contacts system ensures very fast interruption of short circuit currents with a maximum clearing time of 30 msec. The double contacts also share the arc energy, which substantially reduces main contact wear. DoubleBreak main contacts allow reverse power connection.

New Selectivity capabilities
Terasaki are so concerned about selectivity that all AGR overcurrent relays have LSI characteristics as standard. This provides an adjustable time delay on overload (L) and also the I2t ramp characteristic (S). As shown (see diagram) these are essential to provide selectivity when grading with other protective devices such as downstream fuses and upstream relays. The standard LSI curve provides more than five million combinations of unique time current characteristics. Unlike the previous TemPower AT series, TemPower 2 AR ACBs have an identical rated breaking capacity, rated short-time withstand current, and rated latching current. This means that if the TemPower 2 OCR has its instantaneous trip function de-activated, leaving only the long time and short time functions, full selectivity with other devices will still be achieved.

Types of mounting & connections
Draw-out position indicators
This type of ACB consists of a breaker body and a draw-out carriage. The carriage is fixed into a switchboard, and the breaker body can be inserted or removed from the carriage via the racking in and out mechanism. There are stages or body positions in the withdrawing out process. They are: CONNECTED, TEST, ISOLATED, and WITHDRAWN. The switchboard panel door can be kept closed during the CONNECTED, TEST, and ISOLATED stages (shut-in three positions).
Both the main and control circuits are connected to the main power supply for normal service.
Three types of main circuit terminal arrangements are available. They are; vertical terminals, horizontal terminals, and front connect terminals. Additionally combinations of vertical or horizontal terminal arrangements can be specified for the line and load sides. Unless otherwise specified by the user, horizontal terminals are standard on types AR208S, AR212S, AR216S and AR220S ACBs on both the line and load sides. Vertical terminals are standard on AR325S, AR332S and AR440S. Only vertical terminals are available for AR440S.
The main power circuit is isolated, however the auxiliary control circuits remain connected. This position permits operation testing without the need to open the switchboard door.
Vertical terminals Both the main and auxiliary control circuits are fully isolated. The switchboard door does not need to be opened.
Terminal blocks (for auxiliary switches, position switches, and control circuits) are positioned on the top of the ACB front panel and can be easily accessed from the front for wiring purposes. M4 screw terminals are supplied on all control circuit devices. 0.5 mm-thick tab terminals are available on request.
The breaker body is fully withdrawn from the draw-out cradle. The switchboard door can now be opened so the breaker body can be fully withdrawn from the draw-out cradle.

Main circuit safety shutters
Main circuit safety shutters automatically conceal any live main circuit contacts inside a draw-out carriage when the ACB is drawn out. Both top and bottom shutters operate independently and can be separately padlocked in the closed position after a breaker has been withdrawn or if a carriage a spare or unoccupied. Up to three padlocks (with 6 mm hasp) can be installed on each side using the padlocking option. (Padlock not supplied) When an ACB is out of its carriage, any main power circuit safety shutters fitted will automatically spring close. Once the shutters are closed it is difficult to open them by hand. However the shutters can be manually unlocked and held open by activating spring levers near the shutters. This shutter defeat feature can be used during main contact inspection or maintenance.
Test jumper
The test jumper is a plug-in extension lead, which allows ON-OFF tests on all the TemPower 2 series ACBs with the breaker body drawn out from the draw-out carriage. The standard jumper cable is 5 m long.
Lifter
A range of lifters is available from NHP to allow easy and safe transportation or installation of the ACB. A drop prevention mechanism is standard.

Door interlock
The door interlock prevents the switchboard door from being opened unless the breaker body is in the ISOLATED position. Only when the draw-out handle is removed from the ACB when the ACB is in the ISOLATED position, is the door interlock released and the switchboard door allowed to open. When inserting the ACB back into the carriage, the switchboard door must be closed once the breaker is in the ISOLATED position. When the door interlock is supplied a special draw-out handle is also supplied. Refer page 56 for draw out handle details.

Manual ACB operation, motorised ACB operation
Manual charging operation
For this type of ACB using a spring charging handle charges the closing springs. ON/OFF operation of the ACB is performed by means of ON/OFF buttons on the ACB.
Charging the closing springs
Pumping the spring charging handle by hand charges the closing springs.
ACB Closing
Pressing the OFF button on the ACB opens the ACB. The ACB cannot be closed while the OFF button continues to be pressed.
A motor is used to charge the closing springs. When the closing springs are released to close the ACB, they are automatically recharged by the motor for the next closing operation.
ACB Closing
Turning on a remote ON switch enables the ACB to be remotely closed. Anti-pumping mechanism Even if the ON switch is kept on, the ACB closing operation is performed only once. To close the ACB again, turn off the ON switch to allow the motor to charge the springs, then activate the ON switch again. If ON and OFF signals are simultaneously given to the ACB, the ON signal is ignored.
ACB Opening
(1) With an AGR-11 OCR or without OCR (Non Auto ACB). For opening the ACB remotely, specify a shunt trip device or an undervoltage trip. (2) With an AGR-21 or AGR-22 OCR. By operating an external OFF switch, a tripping coil in the ACB called TC is activated, thereby opening the ACB. The TC tripping coil is fitted as standard.

General functions
The TemPower 2 AGR-L AGR-R AGR-S over-current relay provides flexible protection functions within 3 different relay types: L = General / Industrial & transformer protection R = Standard Inverse, Very Inverse, & Extremely Inverse curve S = Generator / Marine protection type
In terms of features other than characteristic curves, AGR OCRs can be split into 3 general categories: Standard type: AGR-11 (L, R or S curve) Advanced type: AGR-21 (L, R or S curve) Advanced LCD display type: AGR-22 (L, R or S curve) AGR OCRs contain many overlapping features, meaning an OCR can be chosen for a particular application.
Protective functions
Adjustable long time-delay trip function LT RMS sensing is used to accurately read through distorted waveforms. In addition to the standard L and S-characteristics, the R-characteristic is available with five selectable characteristics in the long time delay trip region. The R-characteristic can be used to provide selectivity with other devices such as circuit breakers or fuses. (refer page 10). HOT start mode (applicable to the L-characteristic) HOT or COLD start mode is user-selectable. In response to an overload, when the OCR is the HOT start mode, the OCR operates faster than when in the COLD start setting. This OCR when switched to start in HOT mode provides extra protection, because it takes into account that the load may be already heated and the greater level of existing heat stress in the system. Adjustable short time-delay trip function ST The ST delay trip function has a "definite time delay characteristic" and "ramp characteristic". These characteristics are switch selectable on or off. This ramp characteristic provides useful adjustability when seeking to obtain selectivity between an upstream ACB and downstream circuit breakers or fuses. In OCRs with an L/R characteristic, when a fault current exceeds 10 times the rated current (In), the ramp mode will be changed to the definite time mode. (5 times rated current for "S" type OCRs)
Adjustable instantaneous trip function INST/MCR There are two modes of instantaneous tripping. They are the INST and the MCR setting. Either function can be selected by operating a switch on the OCR. The INST (instantaneous) trip function trips the ACB when a short circuit current exceeds its pickup current setting, irrespective of whether the ACB is closing or has already closed. Alternatively, the Making Current Release (MCR) trips the ACB when only if the short circuit current exceeds the pickup current setting during the closing operation. After the ACB is closed the MCR is inoperative. Note: The MCR requires separate control power. Should this fail, the MCR will be inoperative. Power must either be returned to the MCR or the OCR must be switched to the INST trip position to obtain any instantaneous trip function.

PTA, GF, RPT, NP
Adjustable pre-trip alarm function PTA Reverse power trip function RPT
A single channel pre-trip alarm function provides an alarm signal via the alarm contact (1N/O-contact). This signal occurs when the load current exceeding a pre-determined value lasts for a pre-determined time. The pre-trip alarm is automatically reset when the load current drops back to the pre-determined value. A 2-channel pre-trip alarm function is also available for generator S-characteristic OCRs. This function can be used to adjust load feeding by order of priority. Note; both 1 & 2 channel types require a control power source.
Ground fault trip function GF
(For AGR-21 and AGR-22 only.) The RPT function protects 3-phase generators running in parallel against reverse power. The RPT pickup current can be set at any one of seven increments from 4 % to 10 % of the generators rated power. The applicable rated voltages are AC100 120 V, AC200 - 240 V, and AC380 - 460 V. The RPT function comes usually with LED operation indication and contact output. Notes: 1: CT for RPT is not available for AR440S, 4000 A ACBs. 2. Indent item. Contact NHP for details.
N-phase protection function NP
The GF pickup current can be set between 10 % and 100 % of the CT rated primary current [ICT]. Altering ramp characteristics: The ramp and definite time characteristics are switch selectable. The GF trip function comes into operation with the definite time characteristic when the load current reaches 100 % or more of the CT rated primary current [ICT]. The GF trip function is factoryset to a definite time characteristic. When using a 3-pole ACB in a 3-phase, 4-wire system, an external neutral CT for the neutral line must be used, refer page 35. Notes: 1: The GF trip function comes with operation output contacts and indication LEDs. If only ground fault indication is required, but no ACB tripping function, please specify at the time of ordering.
This NP function is available on 4-pole ACBs and prevents the neutral conductor from suffering damage or burnout due to overcurrent. The NP trip pickup current can be set between 40 % and 100 % of the OCR rated primary current for OCRs with either L or R-characteristics. The pick-up current is factory set to a value specified at the time of ordering. Notes: 1: The NP trip function comes as standard with LED operation indication and an output contact. The NP trip pick-up CURRENT and trip TIME settings are a function of the position of the OCRs LT trip function dial. Note. The N phase protection option is not available for generator "S" type OCRs. 2: Indent item. Contact NHP for details.

Adjustable undervoltage trip function UVT
(For AGR-21 and AGR-22 non-communication models only.) AGR21/22 Phase failure protection is achieved by connecting and monitoring all 3 phases. The UVTs are available in 4 models that can monitor different line voltages. They are: 100/120 V AC, 200/240 V AC, 380/460 V AC, and 24 V DC The UVT function trips the ACB when the UVT control voltage drops to a value equal to 65 % of the rated value. The operating time can be set at any one of ten settings: Instantaneous trip through to a 1s delay. The ACB can be closed 2 seconds after the UVT control voltage has returned to the pick-up voltage. Notes: 1: UVT control power is shared by the reverse power trip function (if fitted). 2: The UVT has LED operation indication and a contact output. 3: It should be noted that the AGR11 OCR UVT option provides a UVT that responds to a control voltage signal obtained from any one of 3 phases, rather than by monitoring all 3 phases. As mentioned above, AGR21/22 OCRs will provide UVT detection for all 3 phases. 4: For "fixed" undervoltage trips as used on ACBs with AGR11 OCRs, or Non Auto ACBs (no OCR fitted) Refer to page 33.

Contact NHP for details. 7 ) The GF function will require an external power source under the following conditions: If the GF setting is at 10 % of the rated current using a 400 A Ict, then control power is required. If the GF setting is at 20 % of the rated current using a 400 A Ict, then control power is not required. If the GF setting is at 10 % of the rated current using a 800 A Ict, then control power is required. 8 ) If Field Test is used external control power is needed. 9 ) A new OCR AGR-21L-PG is available that is without a UVT function.

4 OCR Specifications
OCR Checker, type ANU-1
Usage instruction
Function: Checking the current and time settings for an overcurrent tripping relay Long time delay trip Ground fault trip
Short time delay trip Instantaneous trip Pre-trip alarm
Applicable models: All models of OCRs for AR type ACBs Since an OCR can be powered from the checker, the OCR can be measured even if no control power is applied to the OCR. The connection with an OCR can be made easily using a single connector. The function, output phase, output voltage, and trip signal for the OCR during the testing are indicated on the LCD and with the LEDs. All the operations can be performed easily using pushbutton switches. Function of each switch The function of each switch is described below: Fig. 1 illustrates the front panel of the checker. The number preceding each switch corresponds to the number indicated in this figure. 1 POWER switch This switch is used to turn ON/OFF the checker. When the built-in battery is active, the switch is automatically turned OFF (auto-OFF function) after it has not been pressed for 1 minute or more. 2 SELECT FUNCTION switch LT (long time delay trip: pre-trip alarm) INST (instantaneous trip) ST (short time delay trip)
4 and 5 SIG. ADJUST UP/DOWN switches These switches are used to increase/decrease the output voltage value. A rough adjustment can be made by holding down each switch and fine tuning can be performed by pressing each switch. The output value can be adjusted during output. 6 OUTPUT switch This switch is used to turn ON/OFF the voltage output. When a voltage value is output, the voltage value indicated on the LCD changes from a blinking state to an illumination state. 4.2 Measurement procedure in the ST mode
Fig. 1
Note: Picture of whole OCR checker - refer page 51.
GF (Ground fault trip) This switch is used to select a measurement mode. Pressing this pushbutton switch toggles in the above order and each measurement mode is indicated both on the LCD screen and corresponding LEDs on the OCR checker. (fig. 1). If the measurement mode is changed, the output phase is maintained, but the output voltage becomes 0 V. 3 SELECT PHASE switch This switch is used to select a signal output phase. It is not valid during signal output. Even if the output phase is changed, the directly previous output voltage is maintained. This feature is convenient when the same measurement is performed continuously.
The setting value and measurement procedure in the ST mode are given below. Measurement of pickup current setting in the ST mode I. Press the SELECT FUNCTION ( 2 in Fig.1) and select ST P .U on the LCD and with the LED. II. Using the SELECT PHASE switch ( 3 in Fig.1) select the phase to be measured. III. Press the OUTPUT switch ( 6 in Fig. 1) to output the voltage. IV. Press the SIG. ADJUST UP ( 4 in Fig.1 ) to increase the voltage until tripping occurs. When tripping occurs, the LED changes from a blinking state to an illumination state and TRIP appears on the LCD indicating the voltage value at which tripping has occurred. The output is automatically cut with the trip signal. Measurement of time delay in the ST mode I. Press the SELECT FUNCTION switch ( 2 in Fig. 1 ) and select ST T on the LCD and with the LED. II. Using the SELECT PHASE switch ( 3 in Fig. 1 ) select the phase to be measured. III. Press the SIG. ADJUST UP/DOWN switch ( 4 and 5 in Fig. 1) to adjust the output voltage value at 1.2 times the setting value. IV. Press the OUTPUT switch ( 6 in Fig. 1) to output voltage for tripping. When tripping occurs, the LED changes from a blinking state to an illumination state and TRIP appears on the LCD indicating the time delay at which tripping has occurred. The output is automatically cut with the trip signal.

Auxiliary switches, On - Off Cycle counter
ON-OFF cycle counter
The ON-OFF cycle counter is a mechanical 5-digit readout that shows the number of ON-OFF cycles the ACB has performed. Counter readings serve as a guide for maintenance or inspection.
Auxiliary switches
TemPower 2 ACB auxiliary switches operate during the ACBs ON/OFF operation. Connections to the auxiliary switches are made via screw terminals. Push-on Tab terminal auxiliaries are available as an option. TemPower 2 auxiliary switches have change-over2) contacts and are available for general or low voltage/current applications. "General application" auxiliaries have silver plated contacts, while "low voltage/current" types have gold plated contacts. The auxiliaries come in various configurations from 4C to 10C (4-10 changeover contacts). Low voltage/current contacts 3) are available as 3C only, but always include either 4C or 7C general application contacts. For example: a 4C general application + 3C low voltage/current type is all contained within the same contact housing. Key locks, key interlocks
Key lock
Two types of key locks are available, one that can lock the ACB in the closed position, and another for the open position. When an ACB is fitted with a key lock, the operator cannot operate the ACB unless using a matched key.
Key interlock
Key interlocking is a system of interlocking between ACBs, with each ACB fitted with a key lock designed to lock the ACB in the OFF (contacts open) position.
A key must be inserted to release the lock before
closed. By utilising the ACB lock OFF key lock feature, and by providing users with a limited number of keys, this method by default provides an effective and reliable interlock system. Using the same keys also allows interlocking between an ACB and other devices (such as a switchboard door).
Key types
NHP can fit the following lock types to TemPower 2 ACBs: > L & F / Fortress > Ronis > Castell Unless specified otherwise, NHP will supply ACBs fitted with the Fortress type H31 lock device. A key is included. Multiple numbers of keys can be supplied, or even no keys on request. NHP can also supply locks keyed to specific codes on request. Note: Key locks, Off Padlocks and Key Interlocks occupy the same mounting space on an ACB. Therefore only one can be fitted at any time. Off padlock page 56.

Interlocking - Cable type, Rod type
Mechanical interlock
TemPower 2 mechanical interlocks employ either cable or rod systems to provide positive interlocking between two or three ACBs. To further enhance the system, electrical interlocking can be used. Mechanical interlock types
2 way cable interlock for 2 ACBs 3 way cable interlock for 3 ACBs 2 way vertical side mounting rod interlock for 2 ACBs 3 way vertical, available as either a rod or cable type for 3 ACBs
Cable interlocking is the most flexible means of interlocking ACBs in terms of combinations and mounting flexibility. Cable Interlocking is possible between any 3 or 4 pole frame size or combination of different frame sizes within the TemPower 2 range. This is achieved through the use of cable as the form of interlock. ACBs can be mounted diagonally, horizontally or vertically. Cable interlocking can be used to obtain a variety of switching combinations between 2 or 3 ACBs. The simplest is between two ACBs using 2 cables. Either ACB "X" or "Y" can be closed. (Type C) In the case of 3 ACBs, called "X", "Y" and "Z", by using 4 cables, interlocking can be obtained between X and Y, Y and Z, but not X and Z. (Type A) By using 6 cables, interlocking can be obtained between "X", "Y" or "Z" in any combination. (Type B) Distance between ACBs & Cable length Cable lengths, or the distance the ACBs are apart can be specified by customer order. Special pre-specified lengths can range from 1 m up to 7 m. Otherwise NHP will supply a kit consisting of two 3 meter cable lengths that can be cut to the required length by the user. Multiple cable quantities can be ordered for A & B interlocking. Bend radius The bend radius it the minimum diameter bend allowed that maintains functionality. If the bend is less than 150 mm, the cable can jam against the outer protective sleeve. The cable consists of a solid stainless steel wire inside a protective sleeve.
Rod interlocking is possible between any 3 or 4 pole frame size or combination of different frame sizes within the TemPower 2 range. Rod interlocking is for mounting ACBs vertically above one another only. The minimum pitch can be 550 mm, the maximum 1200 mm. For any two ACBs that require an exact pitch distance, please specify when ordering. Rod interlocking can be used to obtain interlocking between 2 or 3 ACBs. The simplest is between two ACBs. Either ACB "A" or "B" can be closed. In the case of 3 ACBs, called "A", "B" and "C", interlocking can be obtained between A and B, C and B, but not A and C. Contact NHP for additional details.

Lifting plate, ON-OFF button cover, door flange, control circuit terminal cover, IP cover
Lifting plate
Lifting plates are detachable tools that can be used to lift a breaker body into or out of a draw-out carriage when the ACB is in the fully withdrawn position. Lifting plates available on request.
Door flange
A door flange is an aesthetically attractive frame that covers around the cutout a switchboard door or panel that the front of the ACB protrudes through. Two types of door flange are available, an IP 20 type and an IP 41 type which includes a gasket. Door flanges are an option.
Note: A door flange cannot be used with a door interlock.
IP cover
An IP cover is a heavy-duty clear plastic assembly with a hinged door that provides an IP 55 grade of protection. The IP cover door is held closed by 3 rotary latches, with each able to accept a single padlock with a 6 mm diameter hasp. The IP cover is mounted to a switchboard door or panel, which is to be opened to allow the ACB to be inserted or fully withdrawn. Once fitted, the IP cover becomes an integral part of the switchboard door or panel, and will remain in place at all times irrespective of whether the ACB is in the fully inserted in the CONNECTED, TEST or ISOLATED positions. IP covers are an option.

4 Specifications
OFF padlock, interpole barrier, Internally stored drawout handle
OFF padlock
This optional feature permits the ACB to be padlocked in the OFF position. A maximum of three padlocks with 6 mm hasp can be fitted. Padlocking is possible only when the ACBs ON-OFF indicator shows OFF. When the ACB is padlocked in the OFF position, both the ACBs manual and electrical closing operations become inoperative, though charging of the closing spring by manually operating the charging lever or by the motor is still possible. The OFF padlock is installed in the same position on the front of the breakers that is occupied by a Fortress or Castell lock, and does not replace the "position padlock" which is standard on TemPower 2 ACBs irrespective.
Interpole barrier
The rear connection inter-pole barrier set prevents a possible short-circuit due to foreign objects entering between the poles of the main circuit terminals or between the line and load ends, thus enhancing operational reliability of the ACB. This barrier cannot be fitted to ACBs that are supplied with front connections or a reverse power trip function. Interpole barriers are optional.

Earthing ACBs
An ACB used as a mains earthing device
An earthing ACB is primarily a safety device for personnel performing electrical maintenance. When live main switchboards or associated downstream distribution systems require maintenance or modification, it is a critical requirement that safe working conditions exist for people, and that electrical equipment is protected. Application During a typical maintenance period, the switchboard section being worked on will be isolated, or perhaps the whole switchboard. There is always a risk that an unauthorised person may switch the power supply back ON, which could have lethal results. Even though it is possible to lock switching devices OFF to ensure that voltage is not applied to the circuit section being maintained, absolute safety can be maximised only if that particular section is SOLIDLY EARTHED during the maintenance period. A safe and relatively economical way to apply system earthing during routine maintenance is via a dedicated ACB that acts as an earthing path. The ACB would have a short circuit rating equal to the system potential fault level. An earthing ACB effectively replaces the use of not so reliable safety devices such as cables with Alligator clips etc being used to connect busbar and other live parts to earth during maintenance. To further clarify the point, an earthing ACB does not switch the main power off. Power is already switched off further upstream. An earthing ACB simply acts as a solid, reliable, path for a potential earth fault current. Terasaki have designed a range of TemPower 2 ACBs for system earthing applications. Either the incoming cables or busbars to the switchboard can be grounded (figure 2) or the main busbars on the load side of the ACBs only (figure 1).

Earthing ACBs
The modified TemPower 2 ACB - Earthing device (continued)
NHP can supply a completely modified dedicated earthing ACB, parts and advice for on-site conversion. The modified ACB is always a withdrawable type with modifications to the carriage and the ACB. The switchboard itself requires a permanent special earth connection to the earthing ACB carriage. The modified earthing ACB includes either a line or load phase shorting bar, and an earth terminal. The ACB carriage is fitted with a dedicated earth terminal, which has a cluster connection similar the main phase connections. If the ACB has an OCR, shunt trip or UVT, then they must be disabled while the breaker is acting as an earthing device. However in most applications NHP will supply a breaker which is "Non Auto". That is, there is no OCR, and because these are earthing breakers, no shunt or UVTs. The standard ACB "position indicator" is also modified to give the ACB two mechanically operated position indicators, called "ISOLATED" and "EARTH CONNECT".

Operation environments
Standard environment
The standard environment for ACBs is as follows: Ambient temperature -5 C to +40 C The average temperature for 24 hours must not exceed 35 C 45 % to 85 % Below 2000 m Excessive water vapor, oil vapor, smoke, dust, or corrosive gases must not occur. Sudden changes in temperature, condensation levels, or icing-up will affect the operation of the ACB.
Example of an equipment enclosure climate control system using COSMOTEC/STEGO products
Warning lamp (Sirena)
For operating temperatures higher than those shown above, refer to the temperature derating or busbar connection chart found on page 81-86, or contact NHP with special requirements.
GNF grill and filter vents the warm air out of the enclosure (Cosmotec)
Thermostats FZK 01140 switches the warning lamp (Cosmotec) KTS 01141 switches the GNV fan at the set temperature KTO 01140 regulates the operating temperature of the heater
GNV fan, grill and filter draws the cooler external air into the enclosure and cools the internal equipment (Cosmotec)

Busbar connection supports
Busbar connection supports
The busbars to the ACB should be firmly supported near the ACB terminal. Fault current flow through the busbars develops a large electromatic force between the busbars, and the support must be strong enough to withstand such forces. The ACB terminals should not be relied upon as a busbar support.
The maximum distance of the connection point of ACB to the first busbar support. Short-circuit current (kA) Type AR2 Distance L (mm) Type AR3, AR4 30 300 350 50 250 300 65 150 250 80 150 150 100 150
The above connection recommendations are applicable to vertical, horizontal and front ACB types.

About TemPower 2 AR ACB ordering:
TemPower 2 ACBs are locally assembled by NHP and can be supplied with many variations and options to suit specific end user applications. The list below represents typical specifications to be considered at the time of ordering: 1. ACB type and current rating 2. Number of poles 3. Main circuit and control circuit voltage and frequency 4. Operating temperatures 5. Type of mounting. For example: Draw-out type ACB 6. Terminal arrangements. For example rear connect vertical or horizontal main terminals. Front connect terminals are also an option. 7. Type of charging. Manual lever (standard) or motor operated. If a motor is chosen then the operating voltage has to be specified. 8. The OCR (Over-current relay or "release"). The OCR type needs to be chosen depending on the requirements of the installation. NHP / Terasaki have as standard "LSI" OCRs in all ACBs. Basic AGR11L OCRs are available with or without ground fault. For feature details covering basic OCRs and more advanced OCRs with features such as communications ability, LCD displays plus other options, please refer to page 34-42. 9. Electrical tripping devices: Other options such as Shunt trips, Under voltage releases, or capacitor trips need to be considered. 10. Other accessories, some of which are: ON-OFF cycle counter Auxiliary switch type Key lock devices standard or L&F etc. Mechanical interlocks
11. Contact your NHP sales office for any other special requirements such as service or repair, retrofitting, spare parts, test reports etc. 12. Prices: Contact your NHP sales office for pricing.
