ILLIAM H. MACY has arrived. The Emmy winning and Oscar nominated star has paired up with two Oklahoma based screenwriters to direct his first feature film, RUDDERLESS, right here in Oklahoma City. The film RUDDERLESS is a musical drama about a grieving father who forms a band when he discovers his deceased son's original music. The script was written by Casey Twenter, a University of Central Oklahoma graduate that creates television ads for Third Degree Advertising, and his writing partner, Jeff Robison, who graduated from Oklahoma State University. The duo formed Tee Rob Productions and started shopping their script in Los Angeles with a goal of attracting someone great like William H. Macy. When Macy read the script, he loved it and came on board as director, turning their dream into a reality. William H. Macy is one of the most prolific and popular actors in Hollywood. From FARGO to MAGNOLIA to WILD HOGS, Macy has created some of the most enjoyable, enduring characters in modern cinema. And, his work on television has included Emmy awards for acting and writing the TV movie

DOOR TO DOOR, roles on acclaimed series like ER and SPORTS NIGHT, and his current role on the awesomely outrageous show SHAMELESS on Showtime. Macy's role on SHAMELESS actually delayed the filming of RUDDERLESS for several months. But, instead of waiting around for their dream project to start, Twenter and Robison went back to work, writing and codirecting a film called THE JOGGER in the mean time. THE JOGGER is a thriller, also made here in Oklahoma City, starring Derek Phillips from the acclaimed series FRIDAY LIGHT NIGHTS. THE JOGGER recently won Best Narrative Feature at the LA Indie Film Festival and will make its Oklahoma debut this June at the 2013 deadCENTER Film Festival. A huge advantage of securing a director that is also a renowned actor is access to top-level cast. For RUDDERLESS, Macy has cast his wife Felicity Huffi-nan, who won the

Emmy for DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and the Golden Globe for TRANSAMERICA, Laurence Fishburn from THE MATRIX, Billy Crudup from ALMOST FAMOUS, Anton Yelchin from the STAR TREK reboot, and Disney star Selena Gomez, currently in theaters in SPRING BREAKERS. Tee Rob productions were able to secure funding for their films by using the film rebate program offered by the Oklahoma Film and Music Office. Film Commissioner Jill Simpson has worked tirelessly for several years to get the rebate doubled and extended so Oklahoma can continue to attract films like THE JOGGER, RUDDERLESS and AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY as well as television series that require a longer commitment from rebate programs. Thanks to Simpson's continued focus on the economic boost these Oklahoma films give the communities in which they are based, Senator Clark Jolley was able to get the rebate extension bill SB 330 passed in February and headed to the state house. Over in the house, the bill has made it out of committee and will be voted on by the full chamber soon with support from Speaker T. W. Shannon.
