The focus of our first week of work will be on introductions to the course and each other. With this first module, you will interact with the format for learning modules in the course. Each week I will introduce the theme/focus either with text, screencast, or both. Each module will be arranged basically this way and will include instructions for the week.

Module 1 Required Posts

At this point, you should have completed the instructions above: a. You have browsed the course site and have a notion of where things are. b. You have given the syllabus a thorough review. c. You have introduced yourself in the Intros Wiki. Go back from time to time to meet your classmates. Well revisit this wiki at the beginning of next week to meet and greet each other. Dont fret if you dont know/have tech skills at this point. Well be going back here from time -to-time to expand your interactions and self-disclosure (dont worry; nothing too personal is in storejust using some different ways to approach our online interactions where we are using some of the tools we study about). Writing prompt: Now, to complete your work for Module 1: Go to the Blogs tab. Find your individual blog. Open the blog and write a new post containing the following (this first post is NOT the same as the first learning reflection): 1. A brief explanation/declaration of your understanding of the syllabus, course expectations. 2. An explanation of your plan of attack for the course. In other words, h ow exactly do you plan to get the work done? When/how will you set aside the time necessary to study the module materials and complete the weekly writing? Id like specifics here.like days of the week, times of day, etcHow will you pace yourself alongside the other courses you are taking and obligations you have? What grade do you hope to earn? How are you going to make sure you earn that grade? 3. Now, close with a few of your thoughts about what this course might be about and what you expect/hope to learn. Why did you choose this particular section? What do you think you might be learning about? This first post is just for me, not part of your group conversation; so expect next weeks post to be a little different when we open our group spaces. This first one will be (loosely) evaluated in the Writings category (see syllabus, p. 4) using the Participation Rubric found under the Documents tab (but you already knew that because you found it when you were exploring the site! ;-). Familiarize yourself with it and the criteria Ill be using as you compose your writings in general. The learning materials you will be referencing are of course the syllabus, screencasts and such. For future modules expect the materials to be quite a bit more substantial. Oh, and.

Lets have some fun!!
