Acquire working knowledge of a variety of methods and tools, in managing and improving operations decisions. (PLO1, C4) Develop ability to understand and apply the concepts and applications of quantitative and qualitative models in manufacturing and service organizations. (PLO3, C4, CTPS) Strengthen their critical thinking skills by demonstrating the ability to utilize quantitative and qualitative data and information that is related to a particular problem or opportunity and to use appropriate methods and techniques to analyze the data and information to make well reasoned operations decisions. Topics include product and production planning, facilities layout and location planning, project evaluation and control, linear programming, waiting line, transportation model, inventory modelling and quality planning and control.
