Coiled Sucker Rod is manufactured as one piece with only two couplings; one at the top and one

at the bottom. The side load is spread over the entire length of the rod string, virtually eliminating holes in tubing. Pro-Rod's coiled sucker rod is ideal for: deviated, slant or directional wells to reduce rod/tubing wear vertical wells with high operational speeds to reduce rod/tubing wear high viscosity and/or sand production to eliminate flow restriction past couplings wells with small tubular requiring larger diameter rod thermal wells eliminating rod fall

Pro-Rod is manufactured from micro-alloyed, modified hot rolled carbon or alloy steel. Coiled sucker rod is available in diameters of 13/16 (20.6 mm), 7/8 (22.2 mm), 1 (25.4 mm) & 1 1/8 (28.6 mm) and in steel grades of 1536M (Carbon), 4120M (Chromium-Molybdenum) & 4330M (Nickel- ChromiumMolybdenum). Raw coils are uncoiled, straightened and welded together using a butt-fusion process. Pro-Rod then uses high temperature induction furnaces to Quench & Temper the steel. This heat treatment process coupled with the metals chemical composition, produces the necessary hardness, toughness, corrosion properties, metal strength, microstructure and tensile strength that is optimal for continuous coiled rod in artificial lift systems. The rod is then coated with an oil soluble coating which protects it from atmospheric corrosion in storage. Pin end connections are welded on to the end of the rods using a butt-fusion process. The rod is then coiled onto transport reels ready for installation. Quality control inspections are preformed and recorded at each step of the manufacturing process.

The X-celerator is the key to Pro-Rod's success. It was originally designed as a service rig assist unit but has now evolved into an all purpose coiled rod handling system. C-Tech Design and Manufacturing designs and builds the units in-house making customization easy. Currently our units are manufactured in the following configurations: Service Rig mounted Rapid Rod Service Unit (Flush-by rig) Truck mounted Trailer mounted Skid mounted

What is the Fireblade?

We took the principles of electric flash-butt welding and applied it to a proprietary, gas fired system that produces equal results. The result to the end user is an extremely portable and cost effective welding system known as the Fireblade, which further reduces time and expense on location. This economic portable welding system can be used for all of your field welding requirements.

The X-celerator can run and pull coiled rod as fast as 35 meters per minute. This unit alone has changed the landscape of coiled rod service forever.
