increases in commercial utility costs. In addition the cost of environmental energy policies such as the Climate Change Levy and the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme are beginning to impact businesses both large and small. The biggest impact for UK companies will be through changes in their electricity costs, which are anticipated to rise significantly over the next 5 years. New systems and technologies are allowing companies to better reduce, monitor, and manage their energy consumption and energy wastage. Energy management solutions combine a variety of technologies such as current optimisation and voltage reduction to deliver sizeable savings to businesses across many different sectors. Both Government and the private sector are offering a range of support to help businesses reduce their energy costs and carbon emissions. As UK businesses take a closer look at their contributions to climate change, an increasing number are working to reduce their carbon footprints. By combining energy management technology and carbon management techniques, businesses are able to develop synergies to strengthen their brands and enhance their competitiveness. The tangible value delivered improves a business corporate reputation and environmental credibility.
Keseco is a UK based energy reduction specialist offering a unique energy saving technology called Ultra. Keseco works closely with clients to deliver tangible savings and believes that Ultra can play a significant role in helping businesses to reduce their energy use and carbon emissions.
Introducing Ultra
Our Customers
Ultra has been specifically engineered for commercial and industrial environments where inductive motor loads such as pumps, compressors, conveyors, air handling and cooling, heavy machinery and refrigeration equipment are present. Our clients are most commonly found in the following industries: Manufacturing and Heavy Industry Production and Engineering Aggregates and Construction Utilities Food Retail Airports and Railway Stations Hotel and Leisure Public Sector
Our Product
Ultra provides a new approach to energy saving that combines state of the art technology with a range of models and bespoke installation to match our clients operational and energy consumption profiles. Ultra will reduce an organisations carbon emissions and power consumption, delivering typical cost savings of 10-15% and a return on investment of less than 2 years. The level of saving that can be achieved by Ultra depends on how and when a client uses their energy and the types of equipment a client uses on site. Each Ultra client is different and Keseco will always conduct a detailed survey to establish what level of saving can be achieved prior to each installation. Ultra can be installed alongside other existing energy saving solutions including Voltage Optimisation, Power Factor Correction and Soft Start Technologies to deliver additional savings.
The 14 Ultra models range from 0.5 kVA to 1,500 kVA enabling Keseco to match its solution to a clients level of energy consumption and usage profile. With our dispersed multi-unit design and installation process we focus on the usage patterns, types of load and differing load requirements to maximise the savings efficiency.
ON OFF
Communications Equipment
Distribution Board
Finding a suitable location for installation is simple as Ultra units are up to 90% smaller and lighter than equivalent capacity equipment used by other optimisation and load management technologies.
To create the Ultra effect the Ultra unit emits a magnetic wave into the electrical supply that changes the polarity of the electron spin causing an alignment of the electron spin vortexes, producing a spin wave within the electrical supply. The magnetic wave emitted by the Ultra unit results from a combination of far infrared rays, emitted by the ceramic lining of the unit, and the effect of the alternating electromagnetic waves within the supply on the electromagnetic properties of a second ceramic compound within the unit.
Survey
To ensure clients achieve the optimum levels of performance following installation, Keseco collects certain key data during the survey including: Identification and location of all main and sub distribution boards and the size of their loads Operating days and hours of all loads Details of any installation constraints such as access and space Variables influencing the consumption of the loads Historical consumption data for the site and individual equipment (typically 12 months of half hourly readings)
Performance Measurement
Measuring the performance of Ultra ensures that all savings data is accurately provided for clients. By clearly identifying the savings delivered by Ultra, Keseco is able to accurately predict the return on investment the client will achieve.

Aggregate Industries quarries, manufactures and supplies a wide range of heavy building materials to the construction industry. On 26th August 2011, an Ultra model UC50 was installed in the companys Barton under Needwood on a Haarup 75kW aggregates mixer used in the manufacture paving stone composites. During a test period of 10 weeks prior to installation the average consumption was 17.68kWh; during the continuous 4 week period postinstallation the average consumption was reduced to 14.64kWh. Ultra delivered an average 17.15% reduction in kWh consumption. Based on the operation of the single mixer the reduction in consumption produces an annual saving of 5,064, an anticipated Return on Investment of 6 months and an annual carbon reduction of 31,171 kilogrammes. Following the successful pilot Keseco UK are planning to roll out the Ultra solution to other areas of the Barton under Needwood production facility. Finding a suitable location for installation is simple as Ultra units are up to 90% smaller and lighter than equivalent capacity equipment used by other optimisation and load management technologies.

The Cohline group of companies manufactures tube and hose line systems for the automotive sector, commercial vehicles, construction and agricultural machinery and the motor industry. On 29th December 2010, Ultra eco models UC100 and UR30 were installed in the companys Manston factory to cover the main compressor responsible for the factorys manufacturing and the main incoming supply respectively. For the purposes of accurate comparison and measurement only energy consumed during hours of production was used to calculate the achieved reduction in energy consumption. During the 12 month period prior to installation the plant consumed an average of 50,299 kWh of electricity per month. In January and February, post-installation, the plant consumed an average of 45,936 kWh per month. In the two months post installation, Ultra eco delivered an average 8.7% reduction in kWh consumed per month, a potential annual saving of 3,760. Following the successful pilot the system was purchased with an anticipated Return on Investment of 12 months and an annual carbon reduction of 27 tonnes.

Wire Belt is a leading manufacturer of stainless steel conveyor belts for product handling and processing. On 8th January 2011, Ultra eco models UC100 and UR30 were installed in the companys Sittingbourne factory to cover the Main Distribution Board and Air Compressors respectively. For the purposes of accurate comparison and measurement the operating consumption was analysed in relation to the production level of Spacers. During the 11 months prior to installation the average operating consumption per Spacer was measured as 2.93kWh/Spacer. In the three month period, post installation, the average operating consumption per Spacer was measured as 2.71kWh/Spacer. In the three month period post-installation, Ultra eco delivered an average 7.6% reduction in operating consumption per Spacer, delivering a potential saving of 6.4% on the total operating and non-operating consumption, a potential financial saving of 1,546, an ROI of 23 months and an annual reduction in carbon emissions of 8,567 kilogrammes.

Oriel Printing Company is a leading UK print manufacturer. On 15th November 2011, 3 x Ultra model UC100s and 1 x Ultra model UC50 were installed at the companys printing plant on two Heidelberg Speedmaster CD102 6 and 7 colour offset Presses. For the purposes of accurate comparison and measurement the pilot compared the average operating kWh consumption over a five month period pre-installation, with the same five month period post-installation. During the 5 month period prior to installation the average consumption was 20.31kWh/Operating Hour; during the 5 month period post-installation the average consumption was reduced to 18.62kWh/Operating Hour. Ultra delivered an average 8.33% reduction in kWh consumption per operating hour. Based on the operation of the two presses the savings produce a potential annual saving of 8,025 an anticipated Return on Investment of 21 months and an annual carbon reduction of 43,722 kilogrammes. Following the successful pilot the company are considering rolling-out the Ultra solution to other areas of the companys production facility. Oriels Managing Director, Richard Simms, commented We installed the Keseco Ultra system in December 2011 and are delighted with the level of savings shown during the
5 month trial. We are projecting a return of our entire investment for this system in just less than 21 months. Ultra is by far the easiest and most economical energy reduction solution the company has installed to date.
