Weight of steel:
Calculate L1,L2,L3
L1 = (H-h)\2 + free board L2 = (h\2) + (H h)\2 L3 = h\2
Number of rings (L1) = (L1 * 1000 ) \ spacing1 Number of rings (L2) = (L2 * 1000) \ spacing2 Number of rings (L3) = (L3 * 1000) \ spacing3
Total number of rings\ per 1m =[ Number of rings (L1) +Number of rings (L2) + Number of rings (L3)] Total length = Total number of rings\ per 1m * * diameter
calculate weight of steel for tanks Weight of steel = (total length * weight of 1m length * 1.1) \1000
calculate weight of steel for base weight of steel for base = (number of rings * diameter *2 *1.1*weight of 1 m )\1000
The main objective is to investigated the appropriate of optimization method to dealt the minimum cost of structural design of circular concrete water tanks . giving a safe design with minimum cost of the water tank. and giving a relationships and curves between variables
One of the simplest ways to make a tank cheaper is simply to make it smaller. The Figure shows the water demand satisfied by a tank compared to its size.
The minimum total cost of the cylindrical type is more sensitive to the change in all variables. Increase in volume of water leads to increase in minimum total cost ,Increase in the weight of steel of tank are leads to small changed in minimum total cost. So in another variables . Increase in weight of steel in tank leads to increase in minimum total cost in cylindrical tank, . Increase in tank height of water leads to increase in minimum total cost. Increase in water depth & diameter in cylindrical leads to increase in minimum total cost.
