CARGO HEAT
1. GENERAL
The cargo compartment is divided into 3 compartments : - Forward - Aft controlled from the cockpit. - Bulk 2 sources of heat to heat the cargo compartments : - warm cabin air flows through the side walls to the lower compartment before being recirculated or dumped overboard. - hot bleed air under the cargo compartment floor (from the engines, APU or Ground pneumatic source)
2. NORMAL OPERATION
2 valves are located in each cargo compartment heat supply line : - 1 is a shutoff valve - 1 is a heat control valve. When the Cargo heat switch is ON, the shutoff valve is commanded open and the heat control valve opens at about 7C and allows bleed air to flow under the associated cargo compartment floor. When the cargo compartment is sufficiently heated the heat control valve closes, stopping the bleed air flow.
FAULTS
ON
OVHT
- ON : provides power for heat valves to cycle open and closed for automatic temperature control. - OVHT (amber) : Cargo compartment temperature > standard control range & shutoff valve signaled closed.
