    An armed robbery occurred at Devries Jewelry in Grand Rapids. A white male suspect wearing a black jacket and blue jeans took an unspecified amount of jewelry at gunpoint and fled in a black Chevy Camaro. Shortly after, police located the suspect vehicle and apprehended the suspect in Walker after a brief pursuit and foot chase. The suspect is being held at the county jail while police investigate.

Mark Ostapowicz Phone: 456-4079 Fax: 456-4490 12-5201 On January 18, 2012 at 11:50 am, Officers from the Grand Rapids Police Department responded to the report of an armed robbery at Devries Jewelry located at 411 Leonard St. NW. The suspect described as a white male wearing a black jacket and blue jeans armed with a black handgun fled in a black Chevy Camaro after taking an unspecified amount of jewelry. Minutes after the robbery, an Officer from the Grand Rapids Police Department located the suspect vehicle and after a short pursuit and foot chase, a suspect was taken into custody without incident in the area of Alpine/ 3 Mile Road in the city of Walker. The suspect is lodged at the Kent County Correctional Facility awaiting formal charges. The Grand Rapids Police Department Major Case team is investigating this incident.
