Inspiration
Sculpture by Martin Puryear - Ladder for Booker T. Washington. The Ladder has a symbolic intent to ASPIRE ( can also be defined by Ascending, Soaring & Succeeding). It is fragile and barely climbable, but can also be seen as a symbol that encourages & gives hope to people.
1177 Avenue of Americas New York City 20th & 21st Floors
Inspiration: Sculpture by Martin Puryear - Ladder for Booker T. Washington. Project Goal: To create an office environment, where it is treated more like a domestic space rather than a workplace. To increase employees productivity and satisfaction by including amenities such as coffee stations, ergonomic seating at workstations & informal meeting areas for impromptu meetings and breaks.

CONCEPT :
LIQUID CYMATICS
It is a 7-storey structure with an area of 33,058 sq.ft., converted into a Co-op. It features a one-story rusticated stone base & a red brick body & top with terracotta detailing.
CORNER OF : CENTRAL PARK WEST & W105TH STREET
Cymatics, the science of wave phenomena and the effect of sound (vibration) on matter, can be described as making sound visible .
This inspiration image above is a photograph of a cymatic experiment done with water and light. By using sound waves to excite liquid, Cymatics reveal beautifully harmonious patterns through this interaction. Unexpected patterns emerge, evolve and transform, constantly shifting between states of order and chaos, due to various vibration frequencies and points of instigation.
DESIGN PROCESS:
The insertion of nodes throughout the building according to program and context within the vertical mass, has provided the opportunity to explore different levels of frequency in the connectivity to the nodesmanifesting various zones, which can foster more intimate and personal activities to exposed communal exchange; resulting in a more genuine Co-op community environment.
CONCEPT :
LIQUID CYMATICS
This image begins to diagram the concept of the NODES and the qualitative characteristics of their connections to each other.
