Cerro Santa Ana, located in the center of the Paraguaná Peninsula, was declared the

Nature Monument June 14, 1972

El Cerro Santa Ana is known for being the only elevation of 830 meters in the
Paraguana Peninsula.

Its summit consists of three peaks that stretch from east to west in the following order:
El Picacho de Buena Vista, El Picacho de Santa Ana and the higher the Picacho Moruy.

VEGETATION
It features five floors biotic

1. The first is xerophytic area with thorn forest dominated Cuji, cacti, cactus and crops
and also kills other species such as rings, and the lily of Mt.
2. The second one called Zone Tropofítica montane deciduous forest composed of taller
trees such as Tabacon skirt, and andirons. In this area the climate is less hot because
there is more rainfall.
3. the third is the area called hydrophytic mesothermic cloud forest where the trees
reach a height of 15 meters and the humidity is high, the soil is wetland.
4. The fourth area is hydrophytic vegetation mesothermic cloud forest of tall, leafy trees
5. This area is called the dwarf vegetation dominated seudoparamera because small
plants like ferns, Clusia, and short-short

FAUNA
the fauna found in each of the floors is varied.
Birds: the guacharaca, Cardinal coriano, the Oriole, the Gonzalito, the carpenter, the
hummingbird warbler.
Mammals: the mouse backpacker, the casiragua, and forestry the tree frog, the rabbit
and a kind of long-nosed bat.
