Main changes:
 The number of participants will be 450 with 300 students and 150 parents
 Main hall will be mainly for parents and students who has no background about US college
 The sessions are designed so that an individual, regardless of his or her information about US
colleges and university, can attain a comprehensive and detailed info
 The presentation part will be only 15 - 20 mins to cover the main points. Then the group will be
break up into smaller group of 10 students for 30 - 35 mins for students to get personal
attention and ask thoughtful questions. The total time is 50 min as compared to 30mins last
year.
 To handle logistics problem we have last year, each student will receive a number on his or her
chair in the main conference room so that we can group them easily from the start of the
program. This also allow the group to know each other better => feel better to talk latter on
 We change from financial aid to how to choose your schools because financial aid is not broad
enough to comprehend the difficulty of getting into an American colleges/ universities.
 Transfer, gap year and community college can be put together since they have lot on common
and there
Comments:
 We really don’t want to do the panel discussion again this year. Students from VAC 2010 don’t
seem to like it because of its formality and topics
