First of all, I would like to express my
appreciation to everyone who had assist me with my
Peka Science 2010 by wishing thank you to my
Science Teacher, En. Fazwadi for his guidance in
explaining how to do my Peka Science 2010 entitled
Unicellular organism and Multicellular organism.
Special thanks are also given my mother, Dr.
Dayang Fredalina bt. Basri for her effort in helping
me for my financial or moral support. Without her
support and guidance, this portfolio will not be able
to meet it success.

 To understand cells as a Unit of Life

 To understand differences and similarities

between Unicellular organism and
Multicellular organism.

 To identify and classify Unicellular organism

and Multicellular organism.

4
 All living things are made up of basic units. The
basic unit that makes up living things is the
cell. A cell is also the basic unit that can carry
out all living process

 Living things are also called organism.

 Some organism are so large that we can see it

by our naked eye.

 Example :

5
 While, some organism and so small where they
are only visible under high magnification of
microscope.

 Example :

 These organisms are called Unicellular

organisms.

 Unicellular organism are living things that are

made up of only one cell.

MULTICELLULAR ORGANISM

 Multicellular organisms are living things with

many cells. Multicellular organisms are made up
of various types of cells.

 Like unicellular organisms, multicellular

organisms carry out all the life processes.

 There are two types of multicellular organisms.

They are multicellular animals and multicellular
plants.

UNICELLULAR ORGANISM

 Unicellular organisms are living things that have

only one cell.

 Unicellular organisms are so small that we

cannot see it with our naked eye. They can only
be seen with microscope.

 Unicellular organisms live in wet places and

carry out normal life processes like multicellular
organisms do.

 There are unicellular animals and also

unicellular plants.

 Organisms can be classified based on the
number of cells.
 Multicellular organisms are made of more than
one cell.
 Examples of multicellular organisms are cat,
hamster, rabbit, mucor and fern.
 Unicellular organisms are made of one cell only.
 Examples of unicellular organisms are amoeba,
paramecium, yeast and chlamydomonas.
