The Dartmoor Sunday Rover is a year-round network of trains and buses. A ticket gives
unlimited travel for the day on many buses, and trains between Exeter and Okehampton. This

the Abbeyfollowed by a 2 course lunch to celebrate Mothers Day in our atmospheric 13th Century

Stitched up in the Abbey. Sat 8 & Sun 9 March, 10.30 – 4.30. Weekend embroidery workshops
with Sue Mayo and Tracy Curtis. Choose a drawing of the Abbey to work from, then trace onto
silk or linen to discover the art of silk painting. Tracy and Sue will then help you to embelish the
design with hand or or free machine embroidery. Suitable for all abilities from fresh beginner to
experienced hand. Most materials (except threads - call for details) and lunch included over the
two days. £65 pp BE.
Spring Flowers Workshop. Sun 16 March 10.30am - 1pm. Join Maureen Frost to make your
own spring flower arrangement in time for the Easter week. Morning workshop to include coffee

Childrens` Tile Painting Workshop. Sat 22 Mar 12pm - 4pm. Paint your own tile as a souvenir

Sir Francis Drake at Home. Sun 23 Mar 10.30am - 5pm. Meet Devon's most famous explorer in
the Great Hall. Listen to his stories and learn about his life sailing the ocean waves. £NT.
Beginners Felting Workshop. Sat 29 Mar 10.30am - 4.30pm. Learn the art of felting with local
artist Claire Packer. Claire will take you through the materials and techniques that are used to
create useful things from slippers, handbags and even rugs! All materials included. £35 pp BE.
Destruction and Repair. Sun 30 March 10.30am - 4.30pm. A chance to have a hands on
approach with the care of historical objects. Assist the conservation team in solving some of the
problems of how to care for artefacts at the Abbeyby handling them before practising
conservation techniques.
