BJP SPEAKS 'TEMPLES PROTECTION MOVEMENT' LANGUAGE

The BJP's election manifesto for Tamil Nadu Assembly elections has allotted two
pages under the title of INDEPENDENT FUNCTIONING OF HINDU TEMPLES. For the
first time in the country after independence a National party has devoted a separate section
on the issues relating to the temple system. VAK and the Temples Protection Movement appreciates
the bold step of BJP in this regard. We are sure that the devotee community of the Hindu
temples will respond enthusiastically in the coming elections.
The salient features of the Manifesto are :
1) The Government control of Hindu temples will go.
2) As recommended by Justice Krishna Swami Reddy's and His Holiness Kundrakudi Adigal
the Administration of temples will be free from the shackles of the Government. The
administration of temples will be under the agies of a Committee consisting of Religious
Leaders, Scholars and Former Judges.
3) A strong anti-conversion law will be enacted.
4) There will be steps for saving the landed properties and other immovable properties belonging
to the temples.
5) The incomes from the temples will be utilised only for the development of the temples
and for the welfare of the devotees.
6) Since there should be no discrimination of devotees in front of God, there shall be no
ticket system and the existing ticket system shall be scrapped.
7) The temples which are having higher income shall have to bear the maintenance of low
income temples.
8) Temple renovations will be done by conserving and protecting ancient structures and
paintings without disturbing the antiquities.
9) Goshalas for protecting and taking care of Cows will be started in large temples.
WELFARE OF ARCHAKAS
1) A minimum wage of Rs.5000 will be paid per month to the archakas working in the village
temples.
2) Archakas working in notified village temples will be given priority in Government housing
schemes.
3) Existing vacancies in temples will be filled immediately.
4) Daily wage employees working in village temples will be regularised.
5) A pension of Rs.2000 will be given per month to the archakas who have completed 60
years. This will be extended to all archakas working in village temples.
Devotees of Tamil Nadu who worship in temples and are concerned at the
devastation of thousands of Ancient Temples in the hands of the Athiests
should rejoice with this inclination of the party in power in the Country.
What we need is the extension at the National level in the form of a Central
Legislation for Temples similar to that of the Wakfs.

Welfare of temples A must for States welfare

Vedic traditions and temples worship have been protected in this holy land of Bharath
(India) for thousands of years even braving several hostile foreign oppressions. At the time
of independence we still had significantly traditional and vedic minded people and majority of
the citizens were highly devoted to the protection of traditions. Currently these type of people
are dwindling in number in this country. Looking back,in just over 60 years of secular and
democratic governance we, the Vedic based people have come to the verge of losing devotion
towards our traditions and places of worship which we have been protecting for thousands of
years. It is worth pondering over why this situation has come to the Hindu mainland. After
independence our Govt became secular and the temples, which were previously run with
major patronage of princely states and highly devout people suddenly stopped receiving support.
The secular governance systems of temples have also been made so difficult that even the
devotees also are not in a position to come forward to support. As a result the Archakas who
were the backbones of the devotional institutions have lost their support to livelihood and
have gone away for other avocations. Similarly many traditional and hereditarily devoted temple
servants have been forced out. Many deities, due to lack of patronage from the Government
administration of temples have been subjected to mis-handling resulting in minor damages
to the images and many of them lost their beautiful vahanas due to ill-maintenance. Many
temples are under dilapidated condition for want of maintenance and need great care in restoring
past glory. Several thoughtless legislations have been enacted by our secular governments
to rule the Hindu temples mostly in South Indian states resulting in a devotionless and anarchy
type atmosphere in the temples management.
In the combined Andhra Pradesh state the 30/87 Endowments Act is a great example of the
draconian legislations whose onslaught resulted in complete closure of thousands of temples
in both the Andhra and Telengana states which are following the enactment. More than Andhra
it is the Telengana state temples which got affected significantly. Due to devotionless management
styles of the secular governments, many temples today are facing a situation of turmoil resulting
in peacelessness, unrest and disillusioned situation in the nation.
Under these circumstances it is commendable to note that some devotees both inside
the government and outside are fighting the onslaught. VAK salutes them. Recently it is heartening
to see some good devotees in the A.P. Government also who have tried in their own way to
teach how the secular Governments should behave in the current circumstances to help protect
the religious traditions of its majority religion. Recently A.P.Government has taken certain key
decisions of the Archaka Welfare Fund Trust (AWFT) main points of which are worth mentioning.
1.
No Hundis to be installed in 6C temples and other temples without Commissioners Permission
2.
Collection of contribution from TTD to welfare funds
3.
Favourable orders on Compassionate Archaka appointments.
4.
Question of retirement does not arise for Heriditary archakas
5.
Minimum salaries to increase living conditions of Archakas
The A.P.Govt has directed TTD to contribute to Common Good Fund for protection of
other old temples. VAK salutes once again the A.P. Government with such devoted officers
who have rendered yeomen service in protecting the Archakas, traditions and temples and
would also like to give a CALL to all devotees to help their mite in protecting the institutions
braving the hostile situations. The situation of INTERNAL INVASIONS is now worse than that
of FOREIGN INVASIONS. Arise and join the movement to protect the temples.
VAK appeals to AP Government and the devoted officers to also release the pending
GO on Hereditary Archaka Service Rules so as to protect, preserve and continue the traditional
archaka family system established by our ancient Rishis which is slowly becoming extinct. O

There should be no regional boundaries for temples.

BEARER OF THE BIG MOUNTAIN

Sri V.S.Karunakaran, Chennai

Because of Sage Durvasas curse, Indra

and his Deva loka turned out to be devoid of
Lakshmi kataksha and eventually in the Deva-Asura
battle, the Devas lost to the Asuras.
Having been defeated by the Asuras, the
Devas went to the shore of the Milky Ocean and
praised Lord Narayana with devotional hymns. The
Lord appeared before them with a smiling face
and the Devas sought His support to overcome
the Asuras.
The Lord replied, My dear Devas, you first
build harmony with the Asuras and tempt them
to join you in churning the milky ocean telling
them that nectar that gives immortality can be
got this way. As soon as we get the nectar from
the milky ocean, Ill see to it that the Asuras dont
get the nectar. You, Devas, alone drink it and
become immortals.
The deal was made between the Devas
and Asuras and they were all set to churn the
milky ocean.
A mighty churning rod was needed. Lord
Narayana suggested that the Mandara mountain
would be the apt churning rod. Some of the Devas
and Asuras sliced off the mountain from its base
and collectively carried it towards the milky ocean.
But, unable to bear its weight, they all fell down
and crushed to death.
Then the Lord mounted on Garuda and went
to that place. He just placed the Mandara mountain
on the back of Garuda; He also sat on Garudas
back and returned to the milky ocean.
Then Garuda placed the mountain in the
milky ocean. The serpent Vasuki was roped in
as the churning rope. Narayana positioned the
Asuras in the head-end and Devas in the tail-end
of Vasuki so as to safeguard the Devas from the
poisonous breathe of the serpent.
When they started churning the ocean,
the huge Mandara mountain started to sink into
the deep milky ocean. It was unable to swivel without
any support. The Devas and Asuras also tried their
best to hold the mountain but in vain. At this
juncture, Lord Narayana incarnated in the form
of a mighty tortoise (KURMA-) and supported the
mighty Mandara mountain by shouldering it on
His back. Suka Brahmam says in Srimad
Bhagavata Purana:

The Kurma-murti appeared like an island
in the milky ocean, with size measuring over a million
square miles.
Suka Brahmam also puts forth that the
spinning movement of the Mandara mountain during
the churning process appeared to be a pleasant
scratch to the itching on the back of Kurma-murti:

For blessing the Devas with life-sustaining
nectar, our Lord had to set up the Mandara Mountain
as the churning rod and the serpent Vasuki as the
rope to churn the Milky Ocean. When the Mandara
Mountain began to lose its balance, our Lord took
the form of a giant tortoise to hold the mountain
firmly on His back. During the rhythmic movement
of the churning, Lords back got relief from the itches
and pains caused by the cyclical movement of the
mountain on His back. That rhythmic movement
soothed Him into a very enjoyable sleep. He began
to snore, which pushed the surrounding water into
mellifluous waves. The power of His breath made
the Lord enjoy this churning-induced sleep with His
Devi at His side. May those powerful breaths protect
the beings of the three worlds.
Sri Parasara Bhattar salutes Kurmavatara
in his own way in his SriRangarajastava Uttara

proved that You are the sole firm base of the entire
universe. From the Kurma peeta, You blessed us
with lectures on all Dharmas which became the Kurma
Purana.(It is learnt from the lectures of Sri Nadadoor
Ammal (1165AD-1275AD) compiled by his disciple
that the present Kurmapurana is not the original one.
It has been lost) . In that Kurmavatara, You appeared
as an emerald- throne which would be a fitting seat
for Goddess Mahalakshmi who is going to come
out from the milky ocean, to place Her tender feet
before climbing to reach your chest..
Then Narayana Himself churned the milky ocean
with His thousand hands. Sri Suka Brahmam cites
a striking illustration regarding the Lord churning
the milky ocean with the Mandara mountain as
churning rod:

uouTuuzosztwou:
It appeared as if a mountain was churning
another mountain, standing opposite to each other.
It reminds us of Valmikis comparison of Rama to
the ocean:

Eu WQ: Nwn uouz ztz:

Rama was lying in the darbha sayana facing
the ocean, which appeared as if an ocean was lying
opposite another ocean.
He then gave away the nectar to the Devas
and deceived the Asuras with His Mohini avatar.
Narayana married the nectar of all nectars, Goddess
Mahalakshmi from the milky ocean and she ascended
to her throne, which is nothing but His majestic chest.
The Devas saw Narayana carrying the heavy mountain
to get them the nectar. After getting the nectar, the
Devas tasted it and realised that it was nothing but
a salty juice. They felt very sorry for making Narayana
shoulder this mighty mountain just for the sake of
this salty nectar. They also understood that Narayana
is the real divine nectar which has ever-lasting
sweetness and Narayana is pleased to give Himself

as nectar to His devotees the moment they ask

Him. Realizing all these, all the Devas went to
Kumbhaghonam and stood around the Lord
Aprayaptamruta (His name itself shows that He is
the real, perpetual nectar) and drank the nectar of
His divine beauty with their eyes. Asukavi
Sarvabhouma Villur Swami says this in this shloka
of his Amrutha Shaardoolam:

As the Lord who bore the mighty Mandara
mountain on His back as Kurma He is called MahadriDhrut (one who bears the mighty mountain.)
Compared to Mandara Govardhana is just a big
rock.So Krishna carrying the Govardhana can not
compete with the Lord of Tortoise.
In the above charitra, we saw that it was
Garuda who carried the Mandara mountain along
with Narayana, on His back, all the way to the milky
ocean. Yet Garuda is not referred to as MahadriDhrut because, it was Narayana, the in-dweller of
all beings and the supporter and sustainer of the
entire universe, was inside Garuda and enabled Garuda
to carry the mountain. So the name Mahadri-Dhrut
will be appropriate for Narayana alone.

Madhura Vijayam - 54

Sri Ranganatha Travel Part II

Tamil Manuscript : Sree Venugopalan, Chennai

Story so far: The story based on the 14th century incidents,
was written by Sri Venugopalan which is based on
the historic facts elucidated in Madhura Vijayam
composed by Maharani Ganga Devi, Chief Queen of
King Kampanaraya. Two young men Vallabha and Dutta
set out on an expedition to locate the idol of Lord
Ranganatha of Srirangam, which was saved by four
Kodavas from being ransacked by Muslim invaders.
After several adventures the two boys, with the help
of Chenchu tribes found the idol along with one Kodava
who protected the idol for more than eighteen years
deep inside the forest of Chandragiri. Lord Ranganatha
was brought to Tirumala and King Ranganatha
Yadavaraya the ruler of that place patronized the
upkeep of the idol with daily pujas. Coincidentally Sri
Gopanna, commander-in-chief of the Vijayanagaras
mulvoy province reaches Tirumala in search of Lord
Ranganatha and he promises Vallabha help of
Vijayanagara to restore Lord Ranganatha to Sri Rangam
which enabled Vallabha break his fast unto death.
Vallabha and Datta turned to Kancheepuram on their
way back, ensured safety of Manjari with her neighbors
after the death of Singazhagar who was the key energy
behind the expedition and left the town with disguised
Vaishnavas as the fort doors were closed as a defense
to an impending attack by Vijayanagar army. The
disguised Vaishnava leader was no other than Camphor
merchant who revealed that he was the head of
Intelligence army of Vijayanagar. Dutta, Vallabha and
the Vijayanagar men managed to kill all their pursuers
and escaped to the foothills of the mountain on which
Sambuvarayas fort exists where at the behest of
Camphor merchant Vallabha and Datta enter the
Rajagambhira fort as Gem merchants to rescue
Makaravizhiyaal. They spot her in the palace while
selling gems to the queen. Datta wanted to abort the
mission and go while Vallabha stays firm. After some
mutual arguments the parting friends unite again to
the mission and get trapped in the palace attempting
to meet the princess.
Meanwhile at Vijayanara Bukkaraya moved by the
events has convened a high level meeting with his
son Kampana Raya, Gopanna, Salva Mangu and other
subjects to discuss the course of action on conquests
to south and have decided to take on Madhurai Sultan
in spite of Bhamanis power always threatening them
across Tungabhadra. As a first step Kancheepuram
was conquered and Kampana Rayas army is now
advancing towards Rajagambhira mountain. Vallabha
and Datta have been who got trapped in one side of
the fort got rescued by princess Madhurangini and
her aides. Meanwhile the Vijayanagar forces have waged
war with Sambuvarayas and captured Rajagambhira
fort. Sambuvaraya falls. Vallabha realizes that he, in
a dual has killed his own brother born to his father
and Queen Krishnayee. He is occupied by grief..

Datta successfully consoled Vallabha and by

the fall of the night the fort became calm. It never

seemed as though a battle took place there during

the day. People returned to their daily routines so
quickly and normalcy returned within no time. There
was joy every where.
In the night the two young friends got the
message that the King had summoned them. They
reached the durbar of King Kampana Raya and for
the first time when they saw him they were heavily
surprised. Because Vallabha already knows this he
was having a wide smile on his face while for Datta
it was a great surprise. Kumara Kampana Raya
seated in front of the two friends in a kings seat
is none other than the camphor merchant Karpura
Kantha. He was seated with a smile. When the
two friends entered the hall, Kampana Raya rose
from his seat and walked upto them:
Welcome! Welcome saying this he embraced
both of the friends very heavily. Datta was dumbfound
and was speechless. Vallabha looked at the King
and said Oh! Lord! You have approached us as a
merchant and confused us a lot. Unknowingly we
would have behaved with you disrespectfully for which
whatever disciplinary action you would take will have
to be accepted by us.
Vallabha! I am surely going to take disciplinary
action against you both. I will proclaim the same.
Lots of work is awaiting you. Said the King.
Vallabha and Datta looked at each other.
Oh! Lord! hesitated Vallabha.
What? Please express your view fearlessly
said the King.
We will have to surely go back home. Our
kith and kin would be worried about us by now replied
Vallabha.
Yes Vallabha! I know that. It had been several
months since you left your house. You should surely
go back. Other than that there is another most
important reason why you have to go home. You
have to let your people know that Lord Ranganatha
has been found! I fully realize that. Therefore, the
new job that I am going to give you will be in line
with your current desire! replied the King.
Ok my lord! responded Vallabha.
Listen Vallabha! We will have to develop a good
relationship with the Pandya King . The best way
for that is to return to them with all due honours
the Pandya Princess Madhurangini said the king.
Sure my Lord! responded Vallabha
You both have to be responsible for a secure
return of Princess Madhurangini. Said the King.

Vallabha was startled. He did not expect this

from the King.
Oh! Lord! Can we do this well!? We are too
young by age responded Vallabha.
You can surely do this. You have the capacity
and qualification for this work. I have already
examined you before. Hence take up this mission
and be victorious. I am sending 100 horse men
with you for your security and safety. Dont worry
about anything said the King.
Oh! Lord! said Vallabha
Tell me Vallabha! said the King
If we take up this mission how can we see
our parents? enquired Vallabha.
Good! said the king laughingly.
I have thought about all the answers to your
possible queries. Now Listen! While taking the
Princess you cannot go via the Sultans kingdom.
You have to take the Karnataka route. In that case,
you can either stop the convoy at Mulvoy province
or Sathyamangalam, for some days, go to your
native and return to the expedition.
Vallabha was startled.
Dont hesitate Vallabha. Under the given
circumstances, only if people like you help it will
be good. We have captured the Sambuvaraya
kingdom. Because of this we do not know how the
Sultan will react. We have to be careful here. Under
these circumstances we are seeking help from
people like you. Dont think that these are against
your policies. You should think this as actions and
duties towards Lord Ranganatha returning to Sri
Rangam. It is also the same here for us. When
both of us are aligned in the goals let us proceed
to execute the plan said the King.
Vallabha was lost in deep thoughts. He felt
that a great King is begging for help from him. He
also felt it his duty to do so for the sake of Lord
Ranganatha.
What do you say Vallabha? enquired the King.
I will do as desired by you Oh! Lord! said
Vallabha.
The King came to him, patted his back and said
I like you think about this. When we think
and decide it will always be good. I am also saying
another item to you. You are doing two things, first
you are going to see your people at home, then
you are going to securely handover Princess
Madhurangini to Pandya King and after that you
are going to come back here
Vallabha was startled again.
Yes Vallabha. Our aim is a big one. Should
all of us not join hands to achieve? Your father was

a great warrior and a valiant man. He lived for a cause.

He died for a cause. I heard about all of that. You
have to fulfill all the duties that he has left for you.
You have to lend your shoulders to us said the King
in a determined way.
Next day morning 100 horse men, the Pandya
princess and the two young men left for Pandya
kingdom via Karnataka province.
Vallabhas mind was very restless. Will Madhura
talk to him in this journey and enhance their love?
Can he enter her heart? thought Vallabha.
Before the procession left, Queen Ganga Devi
invited the two young men and praised them for their
great deeds. She then said to the young men.
Please take good care of Pandya Princess and
safely leave her at her abode in Pandya kingdom
with full honours. On the way, please stay at Mulvoy
city. Please convey my regards to the honourable
queens of Pandya kingdom. Please give them the
silk sarees, gold and precious gems as my gifts
to them. After doing all these items, when you return
you have to do me a favour
Oh! Honourable Queen! What can we do for
you? enquired Vallabha.
It is 38 years since the Sultan had occupied
Madurai. Because of this conquest we have lost
contacts with the Pandya scholars and people. The
Pandya kingsmen are currently stationed in the Nellai
area in South. They will have lots of poets and
scholars in their city and court. If there are any works
of these scholars please give them a good sum of
money as scholarship and obtain a copy of the works
that they have made.
Sure your highness! We will do it for you said
the young men and started their journey.
For the first seven days of their journey nothing
notable happened. They left the Tamil speaking land
and entered the Karnataka land. It was hilly terrain
everywhere. The greenery and coolness attracted
Vallabha a lot. Enjyoing the nature peacefully on
the way was a new experience to Vallabha in life.
He felt that his soul is floating in joy forgetting all
the difficulties in life. They rested at different choultries
on the way and continued their journey. When they
stopped in the Choultries there was royal treatment
for them because the royal messages and alerts
were given to the choultry people as arranged by
King Kampanaraya. The Pandya Princess was treated
like a Queen. She was received with Poorna
Kumbham in all the places and temples on their
way. The Princess always had her aids and maid
servants to attend her and know all her desires and
fulfill them. The inner circle of the princess known

the ways. When the Princess was received with

Princess with the protocols. Because of a strong
royal circle around the princess and protocols,
Vallabha who was heading the security of the
princess caravan had not chance to meet up with
her. They were not able to have any private
communication or conversation.
Vallabha was in a way disappointed with this.
When every day passes and night comes in he
would think that another day has passed by and
he could not reach out to her.
When that feeling started building up in his
mind it created lot of heat in him and was eating
him from inside. On the evening of 7th day, a few

hours before the sunset he had an argument over

a difference of opinion with the Private Royal attendant
Anthahpura Karyam. The group had reached a
small town. Because it is nearing dusk, the Private
attendant suggested to stay put in the small town.
On the contrary, Vallabha suggested to travel the
few hours before dusk and reach the next big choultry
to stay for the night.
They took the unresolved matter before the
Princess and the Princess agreed with her private
attendant and chose to stay put in the village rather
than the far away choultry.
This incident caused disturbance in his mind
and affected him. He was actually not hurt with
the decision but the fact that the Princess has
now ascended into a Royal position distancing
herself from him. This was the major cause of his
hard feeling. She has been cordoned like a Queen
of a Kingdom with all the paraphernalia around her.

PROTECT TEMPLES AND WATER BODIES!!

We are facing a terrible
drought in Telangana State for past
many years. We have committed
a great sin by letting drainage
water into countless lakes like
Osman
sagar
which
is
personification of Lord Chilkur Balaji
himself. The Telangana government
has named its programme of
restoration of tanks as Mission
Kakatiya as a tribute to the
Kakatiya dynasty rulers who had
built a large number of irrigation
tanks in Telangana. Let us all
appreciate the efforts of Sri T
Harish Rao, the Irrigation minister
of Telangana and pray for the
success of this ambitious project
with the help of the people of
Telangana and this country. We
have to learn from the message
given by Sri Sri and the Art of Living
Foundation. If we have to survive
we, should think of doing
prayaschittam by reviving our
temples through a strong
Telangana Dharmika Parishad
which will bring rains by grace of
Almighty and saving Osman Sagar
and other lakes. Lets properly treat
the drainage water in village
treatment plants and recycle water
for various agricultural and other
utility purposes.
VAK and The Temples
Protection Movement appeals to all
the Devotees to participate in Save
Water bodies and temples
movement. Lets restore the
piety of natural drinking water
bodies.

Central Government Launches Massive Effort for water Conservation taking

inspiration from Telangana Government's Mission Kakatiya Programme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said a massive effort will be launched for water conservation and
storage under MNREGA in the next couple of months.
Mr. Modi, while reviewing the functioning of official youth organisations, including the NCC, NSS, Bharat
Scouts and Guides, Indian Red Cross Society and NYKS, emphasised the need for better coordination and
synergy among these groups.
Discussing the immediate tasks ahead where these organisations could play an important role, the Prime
Minister said that in the next couple of months, there would be a massive effort under MGNREGA for water conservation
and storage mechanisms, a PMO statement said. His comments about the need for water conservation and storage
mechanisms assume significance as various parts of the country are reeling under drought.
In particular, he mentioned the tasks of Swachhta (cleanliness), creation of open defecation-free clusters, and
inculcation of a fresh national spirit among the youth, as key objectives that the youth organisations should strive for.

Karnatakas ancient idols
lost in a mere flash

Earlier this year, an ancient Ganapati idol was stolen from

the 800-year-old Sri Sangameshwara temple, which dates
back to the Hoysala period, at Sindhaghatta, K.R. Pet taluk.
The rare black two feet tall stone idol weighed about 100
kg. Although the temple is under the protection of the
Muzrai Department, the recovery of the idol remains
uncertain now.
An estimated 70,000 artefacts have gone missing from
India, studies say. According to the India Pride Project
(IPP), a volunteer group working to bring back stolen
artefacts, there could be nearly 7,000 from Karnataka
alone, given the many dynasties that ruled and the
heritage of stone sculpture.
Most States lack a monitoring committee to deal with the
problem, says IPP, urging government agencies to put
heritage recovery high on their agenda.
IPP is on a nationwide awareness campaign to highlight
the reality of so many lost pieces of culture.
It has been urging the Karnataka government to put in
place remedial policies and draw up an inventory of the
States artefacts. During two road shows it organised in
Bengaluru, IPP spoke about the gravity of the States
losses. Karnataka has no Artefacts Registry or an Idol
Wing, unlike Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan,
who deal with it by enforcing heritage policing, said
Seshadri Shankar, a Bengaluru-based IPP volunteer.
Among the five [artefacts] brought back to India through
IPP last year is the celebrated Nataraja Idol of
Brihadeeswara Temple in Tamil Nadu. The idol, stolen
more than three decades ago, had reached museums
in the U.S., and then Australia where it was sold for $1.5
billion, said Mr. Seshadri Shankar.
Interestingly, IPP studies say India lost more artefacts
after independence.
Where State lags behind
In 1970, UNESCOs heritage study found that India lost
artefacts valued at close to $10 billion.
It suggested an archival registry for each State for recovery
of the lost items.
Although some States eventually formed an enforcement
wing States such as Karnataka are yet to come up with a
concrete heritage policing policy. The Archaeological
Survey of India doesnt come into the picture here, said
Mr. Seshadri Shankar.
Spiriting idols away
The smuggling route is generally via Hong Kong and
Dubai, says an IPP volunteer.
We are working towards the release of 2,000 artefacts,
but 262 are ready to be brought back as of now, said a
volunteer.

DEVOTEES' EXPERIENCES

Chilkur Balaji's Grace - 139

z~ r J#Q O 139

(1) The Doves returned...

(1) ~# =~ ^iH~...

People known to me lost their Doves. They

could not get them even after thorough search. I
started chanting "Karthaveeryarjuna" Sloka on behalf
of them. Strangely and surprisingly, the doves were
immediately located.

(2) We could purchase a house...

During Pushkaras at Rajahmundry, one
devotee gave me a VAK magazine. We don't have
a house to live in. In VAK it was written "OM
KSHETRAGNAYA NAMAHA" for house and plots.
We are chanting 108 times for the past six months
and we have purchased a house recently.
