happening around us. Social interaction is important as well. He recognized that younger
children are confused by some concepts that older children understand because they have not yet
learned to process the idea. (253) Family and peers become the bridge that connects to them to
help understand the things happening around us and that they may gain knowledge. The reaction
time of a child is faster than an old people. They have the ability to concentrate and pay more
close attentions even to small details. Our vocabulary expands and advances as well. During
middle childhood, we gain knowledge through the things we see, we do and hear. Getting
involve with different activities can help a child improve and expand their way of thinking.
In addition, I had experienced that really helped me understand more about transition is
from high school to college. It was stressful to me at first. I did not know anyone from the school
since I barely moved from North Ogden after I graduated high school. I really had no idea what
it looks like being a college student at first. I had fear that I might wont be able to get along with
others or that I might fall behind the classes. ... adolescent newcomers to a school community
need extra support to learn well. (343) SLCC lend me a hand. They gave me tons of
opportunities and introduce me to different clubs and activities that I could join and be part of the
community. They really make sure that everyone is part of the community, everyone is welcome
and they will give opportunities and will give extra support to help students learn well.
Additionally, adolescence to adulthood is another transition to each and everyone. It is
the period of change whether it is cognitive, social and emotional. Adolescents brain matures
which help seek their own identity. They understand more on what is going on. Adolescents
know that their are responsible for the choices they do and knowing the things on which is right
and which is wrong. Graduating, moving away from parents, getting married with someone, or
getting a stable job is part of adulthood. As time pass by, growth passes by as well. We are happy
more than we were before because of the memory and knowledge we had from our past
experiences. We may struggle for some hard circumstances but we, adults, try to find ways on
what we can do and what we are capable of.
Everyone of us experience transitions in life. We learn, explore and figure out the things
we wanted to do that will benefit our future. Our live is filled with challenges and we were given
the chance as well the responsibilities to learn, navigate and choose the things we wanted to do.
We get to know our true identity and our body develops while growing up.
