Language Arts:

We read a nonfiction story called Where Do Frogs Come From

Writers Workshop-We completed our All About Books-We had some interesting machines developed!

Grammar-We learned about nouns

When reading at home, practice story elements with your child when they finish a fiction book (characters, setting, problem,
solution).

Handwriting-We learned about how Magic C bunny can change a C into a g and played the mystery letter game.
Reinforce at home that students should be making a c, a, d and g from a magic c
Math:

We practice subtraction number stories.


We were introduced to finding addition problems from subtraction problems.
We learned that unknowns can be in different places within an equations.
We used story problems to figure out unknown partners and learned we always have to label our answers.
Help your child by reminding them that the total comes last in an addition problem and first in a subtraction problem.
Students are welcome to use Xtra math at home to take a 5 minute math fact test everyday. We use it in school throughout
the week too.

Social Studies/Science

We finished learning about life cycles

We learned how animals grow and change.


Technology

We used Pic Kids to create life cycles. Pictures are posted.
