contractile, blood, sensory, neuron, lens, pigment, nurse, etc.
Level 2: Tissues
Tissue are formed by many cells coming together
4 main types of tissues:
Epithelial: cells of epithelial tissue pack _______________ together and form continuous
sheets that serve as linings in different parts of the body. Examples:
Connective: connective tissue adds support and ____________ to the body. Examples:
Muscle: contains the specialized proteins actin and myosin that slide past one another and
allow _______________. Examples:
Nerve: has the ability to generate and conduct _______________ signals in the body.
Level 3: Organs
A structure that contains at least two different types of tissue functioning ______________ for a
common purpose.
Types of organs: liver, kidneys, heart, skin, brain, lungs, spleen, pancreas

Large Intestine: Absorbs water from our _____________ before it leaves the body.

Level 4: Body Systems

Body Systems: are composed of two or more different organs that work together to provide a
common function.
Our bodies have 11 organ systems: Circulatory system, nervous system, skeletal system,
