    Permeable paving is designed to help with Sustainable Urban Drainage Schemes (SUDS) requirements. It comes in a hydraulically pressed 400mm x 400mm slab with specially designed gaps that allow water to flow and permeate into layers of granular material below, creating a permeable surface. The gaps should be filled with 2/6.3mm material and have a layer of 4/20mm open-graded granular sub-base below to permit water drainage and storage. Permeable slabs are available in thicknesses of 50mm and 65mm in both grey and buff colors.

    Permeable paving is designed to help with the


    requirements of Sustainable Urban Drainage
    Schemes (SUDS). We now offer a bevelled edge
    400mm x 400mm hydraulically pressed slab
    that is designed to allow water to flow between
    the specially designed gaps.

    The gaps between the slabs should be filled


    with 2/6.3mm material (to BS EN 12620) to
    allow water to permeate into a 50mm layer of
    the same material. Below this layer there should
    be a layer of 4/20mm of open-graded granular
    sub-base type 4/20 (to BS EN 13242).

    The resultant 8mm wide gaps create 2% of the


    surface area as voids.

    Permeable slabs are available in 50 and 65mm


    thicknesses and in both grey and buff colours.
