DAQ01-T SOFTWARE INSTALLATION GUIDE

Recommended configuration:
PC with USB2 port, minimum 800MHz processor, 20Mo free HD space, 128Mo of RAM.
Through the USB port on the DAQ01-T, is possible to remotely set-up the measuring system with a PC.
The PC software supplied with the instrument allows a complete set-up and data logging directly into the
PC. The data acquisition frequency can be as high as 25 000 measures/seconds depending on the PC and
its operating system.
There is no longer any need to install a data acquisition board into the PC.
Automatic detection occurs when the DAQ01-T is connected to the PCs USB port. Once the
communication is established a blue LED will start to blink. If the DAQ is connected but the sofware does
not recognize the hardware the LED light is steady.

PRINT WINDOW

When clicking on the Measures button the following window will show up:

Each time the Reset button is pressed the actual measured value will be shown in this window.
The same function is hardwired to the pin L of the 12 pin connector.
The windows content is saved to a file. The file can be reloaded and new measures can be attached to it.
In the Peak modes with Auto reset the window will fill up automatically every time the signal falls
under the trigger level. (See the Configuration menu.)
In peak modes the measured value has to be greater than the trigger level and longer than a trigger
delay . This time is programmable by the user.

Data logging onto a PC

Acquision ON
The green LED goes on once tha data logging has started.
Sampling rate
You can enter here a sampling frequency expressed in Hz for high speed data acquisitions or in seconds for
low speed data acquisitions. The maximum data acquision frequency is 25000 samples/second and the
lowest is 1 measure each 25 000 seconds which means 1 measure each 6h56min40s.
Start acquisition
This setting alows to chose the START CONDITION of the data logging.
MANUAL MODE : Data logging starts instantaneously when clicking on the
start acquisition button.
Given time start mode : by entering a desired starting time (hours, minutes,
seconds). The time is taken from the Windows operating system time.
Trigger Mode: by entering a trigger level, a measure start condition (> or <) and a memory buffer size
(the pre- and post trigger values are identical).
End of acquisition
Several types of stop conditions are possible.
Manual Mode: Instantanenous stop when clicking on the stop button.
Given time stop mode: The acquisition will stop at a given time (hours,
minutes, seconds). The time is taken from the Windows operating system time.
Time interval mode: Stops after a time interval is entered by the user (hours, minutes, seconds).
Trigger mode: by entering a trigger level, a measure stop condition (> or <) and a memory buffer size
(the pre- and post trigger values are identical).

CONFIGURATION OF THE TRIGGERS

Buffer size : expressed in seconds for the pre- and post trigger.
Acquisition type :
Mono trigger: will trigger one shot only.
Multi trigger: will trigger whenever the required conditions are
fullfilled, and will automatically create new files whose names are
incremented (ex.: Test1.csv, Test2.csv, .)
Start trigger: Level tested for starting the acquisition conditioned
by the > or < logical function.
Start value: Reference value for starting the data acquisition.
Stop trigger: Level tested for stopping the data acquisition
conditioned by the > or < logical function.
Stop value: Reference value for stopping the data acquisition.

Data acquisition files

EXCEL path: enter the path where the Excel.exe
file can be found e.g. C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\EXCEL.EXE
Select: Launch Excel for real time displaying the
data. Excel will be launched once the data
acquisition starts, the acquired values will be
displayed as well as the measure chart.
The maximum data acquisition frequency in this
case is limited to 50 Hz.
In some cases reweing your antivirus settings is
required, as it might limit the acquisition
frequency and disables the automatic launching of
Excel.
Folder and base name:
When launched at the very first time the program will
ask for the path and the name of the data logging file.
Click on Select a folder and a base file name . This
name will be numbered and incremented when the multi
file mode is selected.
N.B.: the extension of the data file is .csv (comma
separated values) and therefore compatible with Excel
for Windows
The Type of separator used by Windows Excel also
needs to be selected.
To do so open the window export file configuration and choose the ; or the , , depending of
what Windows Excel uses.
Once the data acquision has stopped, go to the folder where the files are stored and double click on one of
them. Windows Excel will open and you will be able to examine your measurements, make charts,
compute avarage values etc.
NB : max 65536 lines can be used in Windows Excel.
When real time Excel usage is chosen the following table is displayed on the screen :
